The Dakota 283 Dash 5 is a great way to carry your dog's water supply on the go. With a 5 gallon capacity, rubber plug, and crush resistance, it's the ideal travel companion for your dog. It's great for hunting, vacations, or even as a home or kennel water station.

The Dash 5 is manufactured with the same process as military cargo cases, so you can toss it in the back of the truck without worrying about cracks.

    Directions:

    Lift up the handle end and remove the rubber plug. There's a small recess to store the plug on the bottom so your dog can't chew it while in use. Once the Dash 5 is laid down with the plug removed, the bowl area will fill with water. When the dog starts drinking, water will constantly backfill to ensure they don't run out. When it's time to go, tilt the unit up to return any leftover water inside and push the plug back in place.

    Excellent design

    Great unit. My only issue with this waterer is the lack of warning about being sure the top plug is snuggly in place. My wife filled it in evening and by morning the floor was in need of a good mopping. Still worth the money.

    • Easier to carry 5 gallons of water.
    Cons
    • Requires brains to remember to secure to the top plug

    Got this right before opening day for dove. Me and a buddy and 2 dogs. Much easier to handle than a couple gallon jugs and a water bowl.

    Spend 5 hours in the field and it seemed to work as advertised.
    Pros
    • Easy to use. Easy to carry. Seems to hold up well so far. Material appears to be decently durable.
    Cons
    • Its tricky to drain all the water. The small drain cap on the handle is plastic and I have a feeling after a season of use (screwdriver to take out) it will be pretty ragged.
    • Need to rig up a lanyard to all 3 plugs to the handle. You lose one of those plugs and it is useless.
    • With a better plug system, this thing would pretty much be perfection.
