Summary: I made several attempts to build my own 12 ga blanks to no avail. I did research & conducted numerous tests and still got nothing. I finally decided to try the commercial solution and WOW! You HAVE to wear ear protection with these. There is even a small kick. I loaded these in my Winchester 1300 Defender and they deafened me with ear protection. I even get a small muzzle flash. I use these for a theatrical haunted house in an outdoor area and it looks pitch perfect. However, I had to set a proximity limit for my actor. He has to be at least 15 feet away from customers to fire the blank. And of course, they're aiming strait up no matter what. Thank you Gun Dog Supply!! Great service, fast shipping.
