 | | | | | STEVE SAYS: NEW G2 TRITRONICS: More features at the same price as last year's collars equals a better value.
- 2-hour rapid-charging system + battery life indicator lights make Tritronics G2 one of the easiest to use training collars available.
- The Tritronics Pro collars are our top of the Tri-Tronics line!
- This wide selection of affordable, high-quality collars offers a collar for training any breed of dog.
- Intensity levels can be quickly adjusted with the dial on the back of the transmitter
- Teach yardwork/obedience and enforce known commands with lower levels of stimulation.
- Use higher levels to stop unwanted chasing or to overcome strong distractions.
Tritronics Pro Series Collars have "Improved Water-Proofness"
My favorite line from Tri-Tronics sales literature is that the new collar design has "improved water-proofness." Huh? I find that odd since a product is either waterproof or it is not waterproof. How do you improve "water-proofness?"
Well, they did. And here is how: The new G2 collars feature a two piece design with the electronic components in one half and the battery in the other (see photo below). Both halves are completely sealed and waterproof. The two halves are connected with two screws underneath the collar strap which cannot come apart in the field.
Tritronics Pro Series Collars and Stimulation
The new G2 collars feature a slightly different kind of continuous stimulation that will increase the systems ability to reach maximum distance in heavy cover and difficult terrain situations.
The Pulsating Continuous Stimulation on the G2 collars transforms the old style continuous stimulation from a single impulse to a rapid succession of pulses.
Because this is a "broken" signal instead of a single transmission, it does a better job of reaching the receiver at maximum distance. The pulses are so rapid that it gives the feeling of the old style continuous stimulation, but increases the transmitters ability to reach maximum distance.
In situations where maximum range is not required and a smaller transmitter profile will be more comfortable for you, take a look at the Tri-Tronics MMA / Mini Micro Antenna.
This tiny 1.5 inch antenna gets you an amazing 60% of the regular range with a much, much smaller transmitter size. - Steve

Overview: New! Meet the next generation of collars from Tri-Tronics: G2 Pro collars. The new Pro collars feature a new smaller, fully waterproof transmitter with a smaller, more streamlined collar/receiver. The new rapid-charging system + battery indicator lights make Tritronics Pro Series G2 the best remote training collars available.
Transmitter (Remote)The new Tri-Tronics Field and Pro units have the new G2 style tube transmitter. This is a revolutionary change for Tri-Tronics in the design of their now classic tube that was first introduced in 1968.
The beauty of these changes is that when you look at the new transmitter, you still see the tube design. It isn't such a departure that folks that have used this style of transmitter since the late 1960's would feel uncomfortable at all with the change, but Tri-Tronics is now taking advantage of new technologies to make the product better and easier to use.
The biggest improvement for me is a totally waterproof design in the Tri-Tronics transmitter. These units are completly sealed and can be submerged without any concern for damage to the system. Perfect for Duck hunters and folks that train in wet environments.
The shape of the new transmitter is more balanced and has a ergonomic design for a more comfortable feel. The new transmitter is significantly shorter, noticeably lighter, and slightly smaller in circumference than the previous tube design and it fits all sizes of hands comfortably.
Also included is a rubberized sure-grip area around the back of the transmitter to help keep it in your hand.
Another great improvement is the addtion of true one handed operation for the entire choice of intensity levelsof the transmitter. Previous generations of Tri-Tronics tubes did have one handed operation, but you were limited to the level setting that you were on. For example with a Pro 500 you had one intensity setting (1-6) and three levels (low, medium and high) of both momentary and continuous at your finger tips with a one handed operation. This ment that if you were set on level one, you had 3 levels of continuous and 3 levels of momentary. If you needed to increase the stimulation (level) it required that you use your other hand to change the dial.
The new intensity thumb/finger wheel dial allows you to use it in a one handed operation so that you can select both the intensity level (1-6) and the selection level (low, medium and high) one handed.
The dial is also designed so that it is comfortably changed with your fingers if you prefer two handed operation.
The new transmitter is made from a material called LEXAN. This is a space aged product that is practically indestructible. It is made from the same material used in bullet proof windshields (but we don't think it's bullet proof and I doubt the warranty will be covered if you try it out ;)
Other changes to the Tri-Tronics transmitter include improved toggle switches on the multi dog units, a more comfortable lower profile button guard that is not part of the unit instead of being a separate piece, and a more accessible location for the tone button now on the back of the transmitter.
Antenna
=================
Another new change comes in the Flex Antenna that is on the transmitter. The new antenna is shorter than the older models but without any sacrifice in range performance. The new antenna design has a more rugged design that can take more abuse than any antenna I have ever seen. We have bent these antenna a complete 180 degrees to the point that they are upside down. When you let go it pops back into place as if nothing had happend at all.
Beepers
======================================
Another new change in the transmitter design will please all pointing and flushing dog owners. The new G2 Field and Pro Transmitters have the new A listing on the dial. At any point you can purchase one the new style Tri-Tronics Accessory Beepers and turn your training collar into a Remote Beeper trainer combo system. This allows you to customize the product to fit your needs and your budget. Instead of having to purchase the Tri-Tronics Upland Special to get both training and beeper function, you can now add the beeper at any point to any G2 Field and Pro System. With Multi Dog systems you can multiple beepers. This is great for folks that run a large number of bird dogs.
With the Field 90 you can go up to a 3 dog beeper set up and with the Classic 70 or Trashbreaker collars you can have any nuber from 2 to 6 dog beeper systems.
While there aren't many of us that would need this many beepers running at one time, the option is now here.

Batteries2-Hour Rapid Charging System
- Get a complete charge within 2 hours from a fully drained battery.
- HOLY COW! The new G2 Sport Series collars let you charge your battery at the very last minute and still be ready for an unexpected dog training session. In the good old days, (pre-2005 G2) you would need 14 hours to fully charge your Tri-Tronics collar system.
- And... partially charged batteries power up to a complete charge in even less time.
- Again: The new smart-charge battery cradle system allows for a rapid charge of a completly drained battery from "zero" charge to a "full" charge within two hours. Not 14 hours. 2 hours!
- "Trickle-charge mode" prevents over-charging and enhances battery life.
- The new charging system also has a charging indicator light on it that glows red while the system is charging.
- Indicator Light changes to green once the battery comes to a full charge and drops into trickle charge mode.
3-Way Battery Life Indicator Light.
- Another new feature that folks will enjoy on the new G2 collar receiver is the 3-way battery life indicator.
- The LED light on the collar will now tell you how much power you have left from your last battery charge without you having to guess or remember if you need to chage your collar before you go on a training session.
- The new 3-way battery life indicator will use the colors GREEN for a full charge, YELLOW for a 50% charge and RED for a 25% charge.
- Unlike previous models, you will be able to look at the collar light and know how much juice you have in your battery and when you need to charge it. This is a great feature, but it is overshadowed by the new charging system.
Waterproof Field-Changeable Battery Packs
- Waterproof field-changeable battery packs are a feature that many of the professional trainers and folks that work in extremely cold temperatures have been asking about for several years.
- Most folks probably don't need this since the new collars have a slightly longer charge life between charges (100 to 120 hours)
- This new feature is for folks that need the security of an extra battery and it is now available with the G2 products.
- The additional advantage of this new collar battery design is the ability to keep an extra collar battery on hand for folks that want one on the unit and one on the charger.
- Another advantage of the new waterproof field-changeable battery packs is that they no longer use a plug to connect to the charger. This does away with the charging jacks and the rubber mud plugs that have been a problem in previous collars.
- Since there isn't a charging jack, there is no concern about it getting clogged with mud or debris and you don't need a flap to protect it.
Stimulation from the The new G2 collars feature a slightly different kind of continuous stimulation that will allow you to work your more stubborn dogs at a lower level. The Pulsating Continuous Stimulation on the G2 collars transforms the old style continuous stimulation from a single impulse to a rapid succession of pulses.
- You still control the length of the correction based on how long you hold the button down which is just like the old-style continuous stim.
- The pulses are so rapid that it gives the feeling of the old style continuous stimulation and my dogs react the same, but they are reponding at lower levels.
- Dogs that would normally work on a high "1" or low "2" on a Sport 80 C are now responding to a "1/2" level and the low "1" but with no vocalization or over-reaction.
- Rapid pulses allow the dog to feel the stimulation level quicker. Dogs don't go "numb" to it because it is multiple impulses instead of one long stimulation signal.
- The Pro line features the widest selection of stimulation in the Tri-Tronics line of collars.
The Pro 100 has 18 levels of continuous and 6 levels of momentary stimulation.
The Pro 200 has 6 levels of continuous and 18 levels of momentary stimulation.
The Pro 500 has 18 levels of continuous and 18 levels of momentary stimulation.
RangeAll Pro Collars have a range of up to 1 mile.
Maximum range is based on "line of sight." This means that to get the full range out of a system there should be nothing between the transmitter and the receiver and the terrain should be flat and open. This isn't going to happen in most places that we spend time with our dogs.
The range on all of the systems that we carry will come down from the maximum based on training conditions, including weather, terrain, and the presence of cover.
Range is something that too much will never hurt, but too little can be a problem.
Because this is a "broken" signal instead of a single transmission it does a better job of reaching the receiver at maximum distance.
The pulses are so rapid that it gives the feeling of the old style continuous stimulation but increases the transmitters ability to reach maximum distance.
In situations where maximum range is not required and a smaller transmitter profile will be more comfortable for you, take a look at the Tri- Tronics MMA antenna .
This tiny inch and a half long antenna gets you an amazing 60% of the regular range with a more convenient transmitter profile any time long range isn't critical.
