Today we're looking at the Miller's Forge large dog toenail clipper. I like this one for my dogs. It's heavy duty, stainless steel. It's about six inches. Spring loaded. Has a lock. It's designed for the bigger dogs.
Big trick to cutting your dog's nails is getting your dog used to you handling his feet. I'm a big fan of doing that when they are a puppy. I've seen too many dogs that, for whatever reason, they didn't get handled correctly as a young dog, and then when it comes time to cut their nails as they get a little bit older, they are not used to their feet being handled.
So take your young dog and handle their feet like you are going to be cutting their nails on a regular basis. Just get them used to the feel of you holding onto their individual toes and gripping the paws. It will make cutting their nails in the future a lot easier.
This is what I use with my dogs. It's heavy duty. It's going to last a lifetime.
