Retriever Training Tests 3rd Edition by James Spencer Copyright 2011, 214 pages, softcover, black and white photos and illustrations
Retriever Training Tests will help you and your dog do better in field trials, working certificate tests, and in actual hunting. It focuses on training tests and explains the environment factors that significantly affect them -- wind, terrain, and cover -- featuring diagrams of the tests.
James B. Spencer has trained, hunted, and competed with retrievers, pointing dogs, and spaniels since the mid 1950s. He bred Goldens under his Rumrunner kennel name for many years. He has judged AKC, UKC and NAHRA hunting tests, conducted retriever training seminars across the country, and has been the featured speaker at judges clinics for hunting retriever tests. A prolific author, Jim writes three columns: "Retrieve" for Gun Dog, "The Club House" for Hunting Retriever, and "Retriever Questions & Answers" for Wildfowl, has published several books, and is featured in the Gun Dog video, "Duck Dog: Training Your Retriever with James B. Spencer." He resides in the midwest with his wife, Theresa.
