SportDOG Conservation FundFrom the SportDOG Website:
We at SportDOG and our families enjoy many of the same hunting opportunities and outdoor activities that our customers do. As a result, we recognize the importance of wise conservation and habitat-enhancement initiatives. We support conservation efforts by contributing time and funding to projects that ensure hunters will have wild places to hunt wild game for generations to come. From habitat-enhancement projects at the local level to partnerships with some of the most proactive and respected national conservation organizations, SportDOG is proud to contribute.
Our Conservation Fund Program highlights our support for these grassroots organizations, which work with state, federal, and private wildlife and land management agencies to conserve wild game populations and critical habitat that wildlife depends on.

SportDOG Brand Conservationist of the Year Award
At SportDOG Brand we understand not only the value of a well trained canine hunting partner as a conservation tool, but the conservationist that has made exemplary contributions to wildlife population and habitat enhancement efforts as well. SportDOG Brand wants to recognize sportsmen and women, their canine hunting partners, and the conservation organizations that they are members of throughout North America who work hard to restore and conserve upland, waterfowl, and other game and non-game species alike.
SportDOG's Conservationist of the Year Award goes to the person who unselfishly donates the priceless commodities of time and talent for the betterment of the outdoors community and all that it encompasses. He or she understands the value of conserving habitat for the benefit of all its inhabitants; shares with other sportsmen and women an appreciation for these wild places; and goes above and beyond the status quo to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the same opportunities we do today. We at SportDOG Brand strive to reflect this person's attitude in our daily business and are proud to recognize his or her accomplishments with this award. The recipient of this award will receive a $1,000 cash award donated to the conservation organization of their choice along with $500 of any combination of SportDOG Brand product.
SportDOG Brand Conservation Fund Grant Program
Do you know of a conservation or habitat enhancement project that benefits wildlife, sportsmen, and conservation? SportDOG Brand's Conservation Fund will award $5,000 grants to 4 successful grant applicants in 2008. The grants will fund wildlife habitat and game population-enhancement projects and initiatives that ensure wildlife continue to thrive and help ensure sportsmen continue to enjoy the pursuit of upland and waterfowl species for generations to come.
When it comes to conservation, we're all in this together. To prove SportDOG Brand is as serious as you are about maintaining the health of the outdoors community, our Conservation Fund will award a $5,000 grant to each of four applicants who are undertaking or participating in a new conservation initiative. Successful applicants will use these grants to help fund projects dedicated to habitat enhancement and game conservation. It is through such projects that we help ensure sportsmen can continue to enjoy outdoor opportunities for generations to come.
The SportDOG Brand Conservation Fund supports projects and programs that strive to conserve and enhance wildlife populations and habitat enhancement initiatives.
Eligible applicants are not required to have advanced degrees, but funding is restricted to United States citizens. Applicants are required to provide all required conservation action information as it pertains to the proposed project as requested during the grant application process.
Each of the four grants awarded in 2008 will be limited to $5000. These funds are designed to function as complementary support to an applicant's other fund-raising efforts. The Fund strongly encourages applicants to seek additional funding from sources such as federal, state and local government, conservation organizations and others.
SportDOG Brand Conservation Fund grants may not be used for indirect costs, overhead or other expenses not directly related to the project. Fringe benefits are also excluded, as are salaries. © 2013 GDS
