Transcript from Steve's Video:

Weíre going to show how to assemble the new SportDOG launcher. It comes unassembled. Youíve got to add the springs and tighten everything up. Weíll show you real quick how to do that.

Take your springs, hook them into the sides here. Now you take your tensioner piece here. This is probably the hardest part of it, is just getting these two together. There we go. Take your nut and your washer here. It comes through the top. Tighten this all the way down. You can do this by hand or you can use a wrench for it, whatever is easiest for you. Take your washer and your nut. Then thereís a hole in this nut. Line those up. Take your cotter pin. And that slides right through. And then cock her down, locks into place.

Your receiver electronics on your SportDOG launcher come with a plate that allows you to attach it to the bird launcher. This way you can just slide it on there. It doesnít have to be a permanent attachment. You do have some screw holes if you prefer for it to be permanent. But this way you can take it off and charge it and leave the bird launcher outside if you want to. Take your unit, plug it in, and then snap it into place.

Letís show how to load the SportDOG launcher. Iím just going to use a dummy right now. Push it down. Take your arm. It locks into place. And then, if you are going to have to carry it out in the field or if you just donít want to release it, youíve got this safety pin right here. It slides into place and that will keep it from launching. Now, remember when you put the safety in, when you take it out in the field, if you are going to be launching it later, you need to remove the safety pin before you leave it. That way you can launch it remotely.

The SportDOG launcher has got some tones on it. You can change them at the transmitter. Iím going to cover them up just because itís a little bit loud, but you can hear the different sounds here. Weíve got a duck, and then weíve got a pheasant cackle. And then weíve also got a shotgun blast.

You can control that from the transmitter. In most of your pointing dog situations this is not a big deal. Itís great for finding the launcher after you are through. For the retriever world, itís used to get the dogís attention. So, a couple of different sounds there.

Now letís show it launching. Iíve got it set on #1. I generally donít recommend doing this inside. Iím going to step back just a little bit and here we go.

So, real powerful. It will launch them real high.

Video of SportDOG Remote Bird Launcher System

Basket springs and tension rod must be installed prior to use.

The SportDOG Bird Launcher system lets you remotely control the launch of birds or training dummies from up to 1/2 mile away. The Transmitter sends a signal to the Receiver, which is used with the SportDOG Launcher Basket, and can also be fitted to most brands of bird launchers or throwers. This system helps you train retrievers to remain steady and mark falling birds. It's also great for training pointing dogs to reinforce steadiness when a bird flushes.

In Normal Mode, the Transmitter can control up to 4 Receivers, and each Receiver can control up to 9 devices using SportDOG extension cables for a total of 36 possible devices. In Expanded Mode, the Transmitter can control up to 36 independent Receivers. To add realism to training situations, the Transmitter can signal the Receiver to emit the sound of a duck quack, pheasant cackle, or shotgun report. By altering distances between the Transmitter and Receiver(s) and tailoring the sounds to the training situation, this system provides you countless options for training your dogs for everything from hunting to hunt tests and field trials.
