How it Works:
The NoBark SBC-R uses SportDOG's "Silent Partner" technology to detect your dog's unique barking style and only then deliver a correction. By filtering out external noise, including another dog's bark, your dog receives the most consistent training possible. Choose from 10 levels of stimulation and 3 modes: Temperament Learning, Progressive Correction, and User-Selected:
Temperament Learning: correction begins at the lowest level and increases to the next level each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. The collar remembers the correction level needed to stop your dog's barking. The next time your dog starts barking, the correction will start at the last/highest level used. The static stimulation level will be reduced 30 seconds after your dog stops barking.
Progressive Correction: the correction starts at the lowest level and increases to the next level each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. If your dog doesn't bark again within 30 seconds, the correction will reset to the lowest level.
User-Selected: you manually choose the correction level. If your dog barks, the collar will correct him at the level you've selected until he stops barking.
Using the SBC-R NoBark Collar:
IMPORTANT: Do not leave your dog alone the first few times he receives a static stimulation.
Place the Bark Control Collar properly on your dog and wait nearby until he barks. Most dogs will understand quickly that the Bark Control Collar is disrupting their urge to bark and will relax and stop barking. Because the static stimulation may be surprising or startling at first, some dogs may bark more at the initial correction.
On rare occasions, a dog may get into a bark-stimulation-bark-stimulation cycle. If this happens, reassure your
dog with calm, soothing tones. As your dog relaxes, he will understand that if he becomes quiet, he will not receive
more static stimulation. The small minority of dogs that have this reaction will likely only have it the first time they wear the Bark Control Collar.
You should notice a reduction in your dog's barking within the first couple of days that he wears the Bark Control
Collar. At this point, it is important to remember the learning process is still not complete. Dogs will "test" the new
learning experience and will increase their attempts to bark. This usually occurs during the second week a dog
wears the Bark Control Collar. If this does occur, remain consistent and do not alter your use of the Bark Control
Collar. You must place the Bark Control Collar on your dog in every situation when you expect him to be quiet. If your
dog is not wearing the Bark Control Collar, he may resume barking and his learning would suffer a setback.
Fitting the SBC-R Correctly:
Make sure the NoBark collar is off.
Start with your dog standing comfortably.
Place the collar high on your dog's neck close to the ears.
Center the contact points underneath your dog's neck, touching the skin. It is sometimes necessary to trim the hair around the contact points to make sure that contact is consistent.
Check the tightness of the NoBark by inserting one finger between the end of a contact point and your dog's neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting.
Allow your dog to wear the SBC-R for several minutes, then recheck the fit as your dog becomes more comfortable with the NoBark.
The SBC-R contains a rechargeable battery pack. When the unit indicates the battery is low (battery icon on the OLED display shows one bar or less) it is time to recharge the unit. Average battery life is 200 hours depending on how often your dog barks. However, due to greater use during your dog's training, your first battery charge may not last as long. To conserve battery life, turn the SBC-R off when not in use.
Before using the SBC-R for the first time, be sure to charge the unit by following the steps described below:
Align the charging cradle with the charging contacts
Push down on the charging cradle until it snaps into place
Plug the charger into a standard AC wall outlet
While charging, a battery icon will show on the OLED display
Keep the SBC-R in an open, well-ventilated area while charging to prevent overheating
When charging is complete the battery charger will automatically shut off
Remove the charging cradle from the SBC-R
Unplug the charger from the wall outlet
Will the NoBark collar work for my dog?
The NoBark Collar is safe and effective for all breeds and sizes of dogs, though it may be too large for dogs under 8 pounds to wear comfortably. Your dog should be older than 6 months and able to learn basic obedience commands.
Is the NoBark safe and humane?
Yes. The NoBark Collar is designed to get your dog's attention, not to punish him. However, the initial correction may startle your dog.
Will my dog stop barking completely?
The SportDOG SBC-R effectively and humanely stops barking when it is worn. It should only be worn during periods of unwanted barking.
Will another dog's bark set off the NoBark 10R?
Can I attach a leash, rope, or chain to the bark control collar?
No, we don't recommend attaching anything to a bark control collar. This can result in pulling the contact points too tightly against your dog's neck.
Why can't I just leave the collar on all the time?
Proper fit of the collar is important, but a collar worn for too long or made too tight on the dog's neck may cause skin damage.
