StarBar Pre-Strike Mosquito Torpedoes are an easy and effective way to kill developing mosquitoes in standing water before they become breeding, biting adults. With just one bite, adult mosquitoes may transmit West Nile virus and other viruses that can cause encephalitis in both people and animals. They may also transmit heart-worm disease to dogs and cats. Mosquito Torpedo slowly and continuously releases an Insect Growth Regulator into water that prevents adult mosquito development for up to two months. For larger sites requiring application of two Mosquito Torpedoes, an additional package will be required for 300 day control. Mosquito larvae exposed to treated water will die in the pupal stage before they reach adulthood.

Application Sites: Mosquito Torpedo controls mosquitoes in water-holding receptacles and standing water sites around your home. Apply this product as a preventative measure (pre-flood treatment) to application sites before they fill with water. Mosquito Torpedo may also be used in sites that intermittently fill with water. It will begin releasing its active ingredient into water as soon as it becomes wet and will remain effective for up to two months when continuously immersed in water. Do not apply to water that may drain into public waterways, such as streams or lakes.
