I use the collar to enable me to walk my Min Pin off lead with my Rottweiler and to fine tune his off-lead obedience work. The collar works like a charm! The collar strap that came with the receiver was too big so I slid it on a smaller nylon collar to better fit my 9 lb dog. I would definitely recommend this product to any small dog owner who wants off lead control.

They are very pricey. I love these collars, but they seem to stop working after about a year, ie stop holding a charge. With so many dogs, it is expensive to replace these collars. I would love to have access to more affordable replacement batteries. On a good note, I have used these collars for years and they outlast all other collars. They are my collar of choice because the collars & transmitters have worked perfectly--the best on the market. Unlike no bark collars, I never have to worry about rebound corrections, ie the dogs only get corrected when I choose to correct them.

I have owned one of these collars for about 2 months and have been using it to try to rein in Max,my neutered male 2 1/2 year old Lab/Husky cross. When he was just under a year old, he started to let his nose control his other senses and he started to wander off and became a "Deer Hunter." I had to resort to walking him on leash every day when we went on our hour long walks in Beaver Lodge Lands, a wooded area of more than 1000 acres. I have another dog, a younger spayed female Ridgeback/Boxer cross. She responded to my commands without fail, so it became very uncomfortable, at least, until I started to work with Max and the Sport Basic G3 EX Collar. I am very pleased to tell you that both dogs have been walking off leash for an hour or more for the past week without a single unwanted situation. I have been able to control Max with walkers, joggers, horses, deer and the occasional bear in the area. The collar has done everything I expected and the DVD instructions were great. You have my full endorsement for this device.

The Sport Basic Transmitter has three black waterproof rubber buttons that control the stimulation.
The bottom black button instantly controls 10 levels of momentary stimulation.

The top black (BZ) button does not function with the Junior collar.
Stimulation levels are controlled using the ISS Dial (Intensity Selector Switch) on the top right hand side of the transmitter. It allows for true one handed operation using your right or left hand. You can easily change the stimulation level with your thumb and also use your thumb to press any of the three buttons.
Directly below the ISS dial is the "Dog Selector" dial. This dial allows you to select between three color coded positions that match the three color strap colors (black, red and blue) if you decide to add more dogs to your system.
Another advantage to the Dog selector dial is that it allows you to set your transmitter on a higher level but still cut it off to avoid accidental corrections.
For example, if you have a dog that likes to chase other animals, cars or people in off leash situations, you will need to have your transmitter on a high level to stop him. Instead of leaving the dial set on the high level and have a chance to accidentally correcting him, use the dog selector dial to change over to another collar that you are not using. When you need to correct your dog simply change the Dog selector dial to the correct collar color and make the correction. After you are done, move the dial back to the other color and never worry about an accidental correction.
The G3 transmitter uses a replaceable 9-volt battery. Some folks look at this as a bad thing, preferring a rechargeable transmitter, but we find that even the folks that use these transmitters every day get over six months of training from one battery. Average users can expect to get close to one year from a battery.
The transmitter features a low battery indicator that tells you when it's time to change it out. When the battery gets low the LED light on the transmitter will start to flash when you use the continuous button. With a fresh battery the light will glow solid when you press these buttons.

Maximum range is based on "line of sight." This means that to get the full range out of a system there should be nothing between the transmitter and the receiver and the terrain should be flat and open. This isn't going to happen in most places that we spend time with our dogs.
The range on all of the systems that we carry depends on training conditions, including weather, terrain, and the presence of cover.
Remember, too much range will never hurt, but too little can be a problem.
