The Tri-Tronics Pro 200-2 G2 EXP Two Dog Collar is a smaller, lighter, and improved version of the Tri-Tronics 200 Lite/LS/XLS Pro series collars that is designed for working two dogs from one transmitter. It is a highly popular unit for field work. The Pro 200-2 G2 EXP Two Dog Collar has one black collar strap for the first dog and one red collar strap for the second dog. To select between the dogs, there is a color coded toggle switch that allows you to move back and forth between dogs 1 and 2. Each dog's stimulation is independent from the other dog's and you cannot correct both dogs at the same time. You can move back and forth between the dogs quickly at the times when both dogs need corrections. Click here to read my article on using a multi dog system. Choose three levels of momentary and one level of continuous "reserve high" stimulation instantly from the transmitter. Use momentary stimulation for enforcing commands and correcting behavior. The duration of momentary stimulation is pre-set to only last a fraction of a second. Momentary stays on only briefly no matter how long the button is pressed. To produce a series of momentary corrections, press the momentary button repeatedly. Use continuous stimulation when your dog is tempted by strong distractions, such as deer in the area. The trainer controls the timing and duration of continuous stimulation. The stimulation stays on while the transmitter button is depressed. You can make the stimualtion a very quick pulse by pressing and releasing the button, or you can make it a longer correction by pressing and holding the button down. Continuous has a safety "time out" feature that only allows the stimulation to last a maximum of about 9 seconds. If the stimulation times out, restore function by releasing the button and pressing again. In normal use collars do not time out because corrections are far shorter than 9 seconds. For added versatility, six levels of intensity are available by adjusting a dial on the back of the transmitter. Use low-level continuous stimulation to teach basic commands in the yard. Quickly change to a higher level should your dog be tempted by a strong distraction. A separate audio tone button comes standard. Activate it with a separate button on the back of the transmitter. Our favorite use of the tone feature is teaching silent commands for working at long distances with your dog. The Tri-Tronics Pro 200 G2 EXP stimulation set up is the opposite of the Tri-Tronics Pro 100 G2 EXP (18 Continuous and 6 Momentary). The Pro 200 is designed for folks that are looking for a wider selection of momentary (preset) stimulation levels. The Pro 200 G2 EXP has 18 levels of Momentary and 6 levels of continuous stimulation. Now with the new EXP feature, you can purchase the Pro 200 G2 EXP as a two dog unit and add a 3rd dog at any time by purchasing an extra EXP collar. Upgrade when you add more dogs! Many folks that are looking at the Pro 200 should also take a look at the Tri-Tronics Flyway Special. It has the same stimulation set up as the Pro 200. Teach yardwork/obedience and enforce known commands with lower levels of stimulation. Use higher levels to stop unwanted chasing or to overcome strong distractions. This means that to get the full range out of a system there should be nothing between the transmitter and the receiver and the terrain should be flat and open. This isn't going to happen in most places that we spend time with our dogs. The range on all of the systems that we carry will come down from the maximum based on training conditions, including weather, terrain, and the presence of cover. Range is something that too much will never hurt, but too little can be a problem. The new G2 EXP collars feature a slightly different kind of continuous stimulation that will increase the systems ability to reach maximum distance in heavy cover and difficult terrain situations. The Pulsating Continuous Stimulation on the G2 collars transforms the old style continuous stimulation from a single impulse to a rapid succession of pulses. Because this is a "broken" signal instead of a single transmission it does a better job of reaching the receiver at maximum distance. The pulses are so rapid that it gives the feeling of the old style continuous stimulation but increases the transmitters ability to reach maximum distance. In situations where maximum range is not required and a smaller transmitter profile will be more comfortable for you, take a look at the Tri- Tronics MMA antenna . This tiny inch and a half long antenna gets you an amazing 60% of the regular range with a more convenient transmitter profile any time long range isn't critical.
