| The Tri-Tronics Pro 500-2 G2 Two Dog Collar is a smaller, lighter and improved version of the Tri-Tronics 500 Lite/LS/XLS Pro series collars which professional and serious amateur trainers have relied upon for years that is designed for working two dogs from one transmitter. This top of the line model combines all the features of the Pro 100 G2 and Pro 200 G2 series. The Pro 500-2 G2 Two Dog Collar has one orange collar strap for the first dog and one green collar strap for the second dog. To select between the dogs, there is a color coded toggle switch that allows you to move back and forth between dogs 1 and 2. Each dog's stimulation is independent from the other dog's and you cannot correct both dogs at the same time. You can move back and forth between the dogs quickly at the times when both dogs need corrections. Click here to read my article on using a multi dog system. The Pro 500 G2 is an extremely versatile remote training collar that is right for any breed of dog and any type of training - from basic obedience to advanced field work. The Pro 500-2 G2 Two Dog Collar gives you 18 levels of continuous stimulation and 18 levels of momentary stimulation - all instantly selectable from the transmitter. The Pro 500-2 G2 Two Dog Collar has a toggle switch on the transmitter that allows you to quickly move between momentary and continuous stimulation. The duration of momentary stimulation is pre-set to only last a fraction of a second. Momentary stays on only briefly no matter how long the button is pressed. To produce a series of momentary corrections, press the momentary button repeatedly. The trainer controls the timing and duration of continuous stimulation. The stimulation stays on while the transmitter button is depressed. You can make the stimualtion a very quick pulse by pressing and releasing the button, or you can make it a longer correction by pressing and holding the button down. Use low level continuous stimualtion for training and higer levels for stopping major distractions. Continuous has a safety "time out" feature that only allows the stimulation to last a maximum of about 9 seconds. If the stimulation times out, restore function by releasing the button and pressing again. In normal use collars do not time out because corrections are far shorter than 9 seconds. For added versatility, six levels of intensity are available by adjusting a dial on the back of the transmitter. Use low-level continuous stimulation to teach basic commands in the yard. Quickly change to a higher level should your dog be tempted by a strong distraction. A separate audio tone button comes standard. Activate it with a separate button on the back of the transmitter. Our favorite use of the tone feature is teaching silent commands for working at long distances with your dog. Note: We use and recommend the Tri-Tronics Pro 100 G2 and the Pro 500 G2 models for "yard work" (obedience)training and any other training where low levels of continuous stimulation are used to reinforce previously taught commands. The Pro 100 G2 and the Pro 500 G2 models have a "low" and a "medium" button for continuous stimulation (as well as a "high" continuous stimulation button). The continuous stimulation produced by using the low and medium buttons on the Pro 100 G2 and the Pro 500 G2 is lower than the continuous stimulation levels on the Sport series, Classic 70 G2, Flyway Special G2, Upland Special G2, and Pro 200 G2. The low and medium continuous stimulation levels on the Pro 100 G2 and Pro 500 G2 are particularly useful with sensitive dogs/breeds. | ||
