The bodies are made of a soft natural-feel foam Free swinging hard plastic head and feet plus natural dead bird weight encourage a proper pickup and hold while discouraging the shaking of birds Floats even when punctured Injectable training scents available for added realism Has no equal when it comes to life like appearance For younger dogs, more visible (whiter) Pintail, Blue Bill, or Red Head models are available For more experienced dogs, the less visible (darker) Mallard or Black Duck models are available Size is approximately 5" in diameter (14.5" girth) and 18" long from tip of the bill to tip of the tail Weighs approximately 1 lb. Dead Fowl Trainer Internal Scent System (available separately): To internally scent your Dead Fowl Trainer: Inject the training scent into the middle of the foam duck body in six different locations using the Dokken's Dead Fowl Scent Injector or a syringe (not provided). The foam body is designed to hold the training scent whether using the dummy in or out of the water. 1/2 to 3/4 ounce of training scent is sufficient. How to Deodorize Your Dokken Deadfowl Trainer: Mix 1 qt. 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, a squirt dish soap, and enough warm water to cover your dummy (up to a 1/2 gallon if needed). Soak dummy overnight and rinse off the next day. Set out in the sun to dry.
