The Garmin ALPHA XL is an in-vehicle GPS navigator with a high-resolution 10" screen that can track, monitor, and help you retrieve your dogs in the field without the need for a separate dog tracking handheld. It pairs directly with your compatible dog collars, letting you follow up to 20 dogs with a range of up to 9 miles. When paired with training-equipped collars, use the touchscreen to control 18 levels of STIM, tone, and vibration while viewing each dog's distance traveled, average speed, barks per minute, geofencing alerts, collar battery level, and other settings. Get turn-by-turn navigation for streets, unpaved roads, and trails via City Navigator maps, satellite imagery, high-definition elevation maps, adventure roads and trails content, a 3-axis compass, and more.

The Garmin Alpha XL is designed for folks that hunt out of their truck. It can do anything that an Alpha handheld can do.

Get all the functionality of an Alpha handheld on a big, big screen.

It tracks. It's got maps. You can look at your dogs in Pro View. Tone dogs, vibe dogs, STIM dogs -- all from the 10" touchscreen.

Always be connected and tracking in your vehicle.

What I like most about the Alpha XL is that it gives me a dedicated tracking unit in my vehicle. I don't have to take a handheld and Bluetooth it to a screen. I don't have to attach an antenna or worry about connectivity. If I leave the vehicle, the tablet doesn't disconnect. It continues tracking the entire time.

No-hassel magnetic vehicle mount stays connected and saves time.

The Alpha XL has a magnetic mount base, so the tablet pops off and pops back on without the need to connect or disconnect any cables. The base stays put, connected to your 12-volt vehicle power supply and long-range rooftop antenna (which will DRASTICALLY increase your tracking range).

Step outside with your Alpha XL and keep on tracking.

If you need to step out of your vehicle with your Alpha XL, it will keep tracking via Bluetooth connection with the magnetic base.

Are there cheaper ways to track in your vehicle?

Yes, but older technologies like the Garmin DriveTrack or the Alpha app require a connection to a handheld. They're less expensive, but they are also substantially clunkier.
