Updating the Software on Your Garmin Smartwatch

One of the things that changes on a pretty regular basis is Garmin Smartwatch Software. The Garmin engineers make improvements in the software all the time. Most folks don't know it, but you can update the software in Garmin smartwatches to the most current version by logging onto Garmin's website.
High-speed internet access required. We highly recommend using wired connections only. Connection instability from dial-up, mobile, WiFi, or satellite connections could leave your watch unusable. Before you begin, you will need to go to Garmin's website and download their "Garmin Express" software.

Updating the Software in your Garmin Smartwatch:

Once you have installed the software on your computer, updating your Garmin Smartwatch is pretty easy.

1. On your computer, run the Garmin Express program and click the "add a device" icon.

2. You will be prompted to connect a device.

3. Connect the USB cable to the charge port on your Garmin smartwatch.

4. Connect the other end to your computer's USB port.

5. Once Garmin Express has found your device, it will appear on the screen. Click the "add device" icon.

6. If you have not already done so, Garmin Express will then prompt you through the registration process step by step.

7. Once your Garmin watch is registered, if updates are available, click the "Install All" button in the "Updates Available" box.

8. Garmin Express will then prompt you through the update process step by step.

9. Your smartwatch screen will indicate the update is in progress.

10. Garmin Express will let you know once the update process is complete.
