The best method is to place paper towels or GQF's No. 1628 paper (not included) on the floor of the brooder. Put the Plastic Game Bird Feeder in the center of the paper and sprinkle feed all around the feeder. This makes feed readily available and as they run over it, the feed kicked up by their feet causes them to peck at it. The paper towels absorb any moisture from the droppings. The 1628 paper will also deodorize and kill bacteria as well as absorb moisture. After a week the paper towels can be removed as the birds have learned that feed is available at the feeder. This Game Bird Feeder is suitable for all ages of birds. The design of this feeder is on a continuous flow basis, so the oldest feed is eaten first. The narrow feed trough practically eliminates the possibility of droppings in the feed, resulting in healthier and more active birds with fewer losses.
