Realistically, this isn't going to happen in most of the places that we spend time with our dogs, so the actual usable range will be MUCH less than 10 miles depending on hunting conditions, including weather, terrain, and the presence of cover.
I’ve had this for a little less than a month and so far am very happy. It’s not being used to it’s full capability right now, I purchased it because we adopted a coonhound that I wanted to be able to keep tabs on while out on our 9 acre property. We have a Sport Dog sport hunter on our GSP, but he listens a lot better so no tracking needed. I feel like the GPS is accurate. I like the geofence idea so I know when she has left my proximity when I am working outside and not watching her closely. The ability to customize the side buttons is nice. I like the dial for changing the stim levels. Overall I think the only thing I’m not thrilled about is that it doesn’t have a belt clip. The lanyard makes it so you can put it around your neck but that gets in the way when working outdoors. I’ll probably just rig something for it. I plan to get a 2nd collar for the GSP just so that I’m not carrying around 2 remotes. All in all very happy.
