German Wirehair. Hunts. Best dog boots I've used. Velcro gets dirty easily though and sometimes comes undone running through thick cover. After loosing 3 of them, I just add snaps to the back side. Padded collar protects dogs legs from wear. He knows he needs them on, or he pays the price with sore bloody toes.

"It's so much more durable, and our Brit came home happy instead of limping, so we would recommend these boots to hunters everywhere!!"
By: Russ
Hunts. Our Brittany's front Paws were getting tore up pheasant hunting this season! We had used another brand in the past that the seams blew out in after just a couple hunts. My husband used this new pair from Gun Dog Supply last weekend, and we LOVE the material. It's so much more durable, and our Brit came home happy instead of limping, so we would recommend these boots to hunters everywhere!!

"Would highly recommend."
By: Craig Wittmaack From IA
Hunts. Family pet. Competes. My dog had a cut on a pad on one of her feet right as pheasant season was beginning. Ordered these boots, and they worked great. Stayed on her feet all day. Would highly recommend. She's all healed up now, thanks.

"I haven't found any others that do as well as these."
By: Roberta Donelon From NH
Family pet. I always get these boots for my dog because they stay on and protect her feet when walking through the tough woods and some harsh ice and snow. I haven't found any others that do as well as these.

"I love the rubber pillows around the top."
By: Victoria Bell From ON
Family pet. I love the rubber pillows around the top. They protect the legs from tight straps and hold the boots on. Needed the x large for my pure bred rottie. Excellent product, arrived in about a week, very reasonably priced. I would DEFF recommend these. First pair I've tried that actually stayed on!

"So far they are great."
By: Mitch Kowalski From PA
Hunts. So far they are great. I only threw them on my dog 1 time so far just to test them out. I'm only planning on using them in the snow. My dog tried to rip them off at first, but quickly got used to them and ran around like he usually does. The material seems to be very durable and hopefully it holds up in the thick brush here in PA.

"The booties we were using kept slipping and were flimsy. I`m sure these will be just what we need for our terrain in AZ."
By: Joanne Grigsby From AZ
Competes. We haven't had the dogs out in the desert yet, but the products look superior. Very durable. They look like they will stay on the paws, also. The booties we were using kept slipping and were flimsy. I`m sure these will be just what we need for our terrain in AZ.

"Work great in deep snow and in sub zero weather"
By: John Collins From MN
Hunts. These boots work great in deep snow and in sub zero weather. They stay on in two foot deep snow, and feet stay dry. The dog is much more active and energetic with his feet protected on ice and snow.

"These are the best boots we've found to protect his feet."
By: Nora From Maryland
Family pet. Our 13 year old GS has major issues with his back and hips. He drags his feet when he walks. These are the best boots we've found to protect his feet. They last longer than expected. After six months, he is only on his second pair. We highly recommend ultra paws rugged boots.

"I bought two pairs because the back feet are smaller"
By: Sasha's Mom,NH
Family pet. These are the best boots. They completely keep the dogs feet dry, and they don't fall off. I bought two pairs because the back feet are smaller, and large fits the back better, and extra large in the front. Two complete pairs will last longer. I am very happy with them, and so is Sasha.

"The difference is night and day"
By: TJ Steinmeier From PA
Black Lab. Family pet. These boots are awesome. The salt this winter was tearing up her paws and she was having trouble walking because of it. And she didn't really like going in the snow. She would constantly be biting at her paws and would always stand on 3 legs in the snow. Since we started using these, her paws are healed and she literally jumps around in the snow and doesn't hesitate at all. She now has fun! The difference between when she has them on and doesn't is night and day. And the design works great. As long as there foot is the whole way to the tip and you get them nice and snug, they don't move at all. It's funny. She now trots when she wants to run now while she has them on. I would recommend these over and over again.

"These boots far exceeded the more expensive neo paws."
By: Greggory Bell
Labrador,Golden. Hunts. These boots are great. I was having a very difficult time with a retriever who was getting sores between his pads in late waterfowl and chukar season from snow. I tried wax as well as Neo paws boots. These boots far exceeded the more expensive neo paws. The ultra paws stay on through rough and changing terrain and do not bother the dog at all.

"Best boot I have found so far."
By: JOHN SULLIVAN From OR
Hunts. Competes. The velcro is good, but I wrap electrician's tape a couple of times around each of the two straps. I even do a figure eight up on the dog's leg from the top strap wrapping. Once they get dirty or muddy after one use, the velcro is far less effective. I wash them completely, but they will not stay on like the first time usage. Best boot I have found so far.

Customer Review #6864
By: Penny Nielson From CA
Australian Shepherds. Family pet. Disappointed :( My dogs run on sanded concrete @ a storage facility one day/week and wore through the "regular" Ultra Paws boots in short order. The "rugged" boots claim to hold up on concrete but it only took five wearings to wear large holes in the pads. A poor value for my ~$45

Customer Review #18701
By: Paul Kelly From OK
Hunts. I bought these for a 9 year old pointer to use on her front feet only, as she has dew claws. I have always used Lewis boots, and they were causing abrasion problems with the dew claws. My thinking was the ultra paws would be more comfortable for the dog. I managed to loose all four boots in three hunts. The boots were taped with athletic tape directly to the dogs leg and overwrapped on the outside with duct tape. I have used the Scott cordura boots applied the same way and never had a problem. I think these boots are fine for a non-hunting use, but in the sand hills of western OK, I will go back to the Scott product when not using the Lewis boots.

Large -- 3 1/4"W
X-Large -- 4"W
Measuring:
Measure your dog's foot to make sure your Rugged Dog Boots are the right size. Place his foot on a piece of paper and press down on the top of it, mimicking how the foot spreads when he is walking. Mark the left and right sides of his foot on the paper and measure the distance between the marks. Compare this to the boot sizes. The width of his foot should be smaller than the boot size. For example, if his foot width is 2", order a Small boot at 2 1/4".
