Summary: I have owned my Bark Limiter for 2 weeks now. My sleep has been undistrubed by Duelly's barking since the first night we put it on him. Wild horses couldn't drag my Tritronic's collar out of my hands. He is a 120 pound Akbash that guards my daughter's small herd of goats. We live in an area with wild turkeys, deer, and regular northern Sierra wild life. Now at night when we take the collar off the hook to put it on him, he takes off running the fence line barking like crazy. Then he runs over, sits and we take of the normal collar and put on the Bark Limiter. It is rather comical to watch him get his barks out. At first I had him turned on "4", he barked that first time and has never barked again while wearing Tritronic collar. The collar is now set on "1",or off.. I was very concerned when the folks at Tri-Tronics called and told me they were introducing the Bark Limiter G3. I prefer a battery operated bark collar over a rechargeable bark collar because I want zero down time. My dogs don't wear bark collars all the time, but I don't want to need a bark collar and not be able to use it because the battery needs charging.
I love the new battery function called "Sleep" mode. When the
Bark Limiter G3 is on your dog the collar will "shut down" when he is lying still after 30 seconds. This conserves battery life since it is not draining power while your dog is asleep. The second he moves or barks it turns back on.
This morning, I changed out a battery for one of our local professional lab trainers. This battery had been running for over a year and his collar had never been turned off. When it was not on a dog he just let it drop into sleep mode.

The only problem with leaving the collar "on" all the time is that you miss out on the "Bark Odometer." When Tri-Tronics first told me about this new feature, I told them it was the dumbest idea I had ever heard. Then I got to use one and I got to eat my words.
The "Bark Odometer" is perhaps the coolest idea I have ever seen for a no bark product.
The way it works, you can see how many times your dog was corrected since you activated the Bark Limiter G3. If you have a dog that is barking while you are away at work during the day, you can turn the collar on in the morning and put it on your dog.
When you return in the evening, you take the collar off of your dog and turn it off.
Before it shuts down, the red indicator light will blink the number of times that your dog was corrected since you put the collar on him. This way you know if your collar is working. Too many corrections and you need to increase the stimulation level. If there were no corrections, you can either leave the collar on the same level or lower it if you think it will still keep your dog from barking. (I want one now)

By: Joe MWe have a 2 year old miniature dachsund that wouldn't quit barking. Unbelievable how bad it was getting. Well, we tried the Petsafe product and it barely worked. It kept sliding to the side. We were even considering giving her a way until I found this product.
I was a bit worried that this one would be too large, but its not. The Tritronics collar started working from the moment I put it on her. That was over a month ago and she has been blissfully silent ever since. What an outstanding product!
And finally, Steve was incredibly helpful in figuring out which collar would be best for my little "pest".

By: Heidi RamosI'm a dog trainer and have been using the Bark Limiter exclusively for 4 years. I've used it on dogs ranging from 5 pounds to 120, and it always works great. The 5 levels, small size, and light weight make it functional for any dog. Granted, it looks silly on a 5 pounder, but it still works! It's easy to find the right level that isn't too harsh, but is also effective. If it is used consistently, many dogs don't even need it after a few weeks. It's effectively trains your dog for you to not bark excessively. Though I recommend still verbally scolding your dog, so that he makes the connection. Then, after a few weeks or so, when he isn't wearing the bark collar he'll listen to YOU. And be sure to praise when he doesn't bark at all!
I recommend this collar to many clients and everyone has come back with positive feedback. I also recommend it to many people over the phone who are calling for help.
I have tried other electronic bark collars, the citronella collar and also ultra sonic devices.s Nothing else has been effective. Or if it has, the dog quickly gets used to it. This is the best option to resolve nuisance barking if you have a dog that won't listen to you.

It may seem cruel but it really is not, just a very mild shock. I even tested it on myself first and it's not bad at all. It's the shock collars or the dog pound. It was getting that bad....

They have from 12 noon to 4 PM to bark their little hearts out then the collars go on so the neighbors can have some quite time. The poor things might explode if they forced to keep quiet all the time. : )

this is really true, I even asked my vet if it was safe to use it on my 7lb. rescue Chihuahua, she said no problem, this dog is one of the best
examples, she only wore it for a while, learned from it and now never needs to wear it, no more annoying Chihuahua nuisance barking. I
still advise everyone that they have to consistently work with their dogs for lasting results, but the collar is a fantastic tool.

Cordelia , our Great Pyrenees, is a dedicated barker. Deer, fox and dogs we all expect, but Cordelia will bark at an airplane, the wind and probably falling leaves. The Tri-tronics Bark Limiter G3 is the only bark collar we have tried that works. It is the third bark collar we purchased in the last six months. The ones from the pet store chains did not impress Cordilia a bit. She just barked away as though there was nothing there. I returned collars and tried a replacement. I bought the most powerful collar at the other chain store. Worthless. The silence of the Tri-tronics Bark Limiter is heavenly.

I would give it an excellent but I have had a few times when I couldn’t tell whether he was barking through the collar or whether the battery was running out. It may be that the collar is excellent and the dog is not so much. Love the dog but he wears this collar about 23/7 to keep him in suburban neighborhood. Did give myself a good jolt by mistake the other day. Haven’t barked since.

And not very understanding neighbors.This collar(Bark Limiter) worked great, our English Foxhound only barks short periods of time ,and when appropriate.(somone outside our yard...) Also she doesn't get all the other dogs howling anymore! I will probably order another for our Plott hound pup, as she likes to sing already...
