"If you're looking for a good dog door for an active breed, you can't go wrong with these doors."

By: Jan Arbogast From OH

Owns 4 dogs. Competes. These are the best dog doors out there. I've been using them for many years with no problems. They take a lot of abuse. Love the option of locking them open or closed, also. If you're looking for a good dog door for an active breed, you can't go wrong with these doors.

"Well made, durable, and functionable."

By: Mark Hampton From AR

Owns 2 dogs. Hunts. Family pet. I give the K-9 Kondo Kennel Door five stars because it is a quality product that does what you expect it to do. It is well made, durable, and functionable. It performs as advertised and will last for years. I have two of them on dog houses, and one on my storage shed to allow my labs to go inside and warm up during the winter.

Customer Review #4581

By: JOHN SWIDER From NY

Brittany. Owns 5 dogs. Hunts. Family pet. Competes. I spent a lot of money on building a kennel, using the best components. I bought these doors because of the 5 year warrantee and because they are supposed to be "silent". Well that was true for about 6 months, then the rubber bushings fell apart and they clang and bang constantly as 5 dogs go in and out. Manufacturer claims bushings are maintenance and was told I need to purchase them on a regular basis to keep doors quiet. I would not recommend buying these at all. I wish I looked at something different before cutting holes in my walls to install these.

Labradors. Owns 14 dogs. Hunts. Family pet. These doors are the worst garbage on the market.
The doors do not stay closed , even the lightest breaze opens them wide. It gets below -30 up here in North East MT in the winter. They are also a hazerd to your dog.One of our female labs had 2 inches of her tail cut of by her door. I had bought 8 of them, they are all in the landfill where they belong.

Choc. Lab. Owns 4 dogs. Hunts. Family pet. Of the two I purchased. One had the door torn off in the 2nd week. I spent a lot of money and am very disapointed to see the door off so quickly.

Labradors. Owns 12 dogs. Hunts. I purchased 8 of them a few years ago to go on our new kennel building that we built on our property in MT . I bought them while in NJ and transported them to MT . We installed them in the summer of 2011 , that winter the dogs liked to froze, the doors did not keep out the wind as promised,If one of the dogs pushed the door to hard it would remain stuck open the slightest breeze opened the doors and they would flap in the breeze. The final straw for these doors happened Sunday 11/18/12. One of our female labs had 1 inch of her tail cut clean off buy her door. Do not buy this door.

    Assembly Instructions:

    1. Attach the door/cowl assembly to the front plate with six (three on each side of the cowl) #10 x 1/4" machine bolts, lock washers, and nuts. Insure that the door swings freely without striking the front plate before fully tightening. Adjust the door/cowl assembly on center if clearance is needed. Securely tighten all fasteners (fig. 1).

    2. Measure the dog's shoulder height. Use the shoulder height measurement plus one inch for the location of the top horizontal cut.

    3. Cut an opening of 14"W x 16"L on the surface of attachment (fig. 2).

    4. Using 10 #10 x 1/2" Phillips screws fasten the front plate and door/cowl assembly to the front side of the surface of attachment as shown in fig. 3. Figure 4 shows the reverse side of the door attached without the back plate attached.

    5. Using six #10 x 1/2" Phillips head screws attach the back plate to the opposite side of the front plate as shown in fig 5. If a closure panel is used align the holes on the two tracks with those of the Kennel Door's back plate. Attach the tracks with the six screws provided to secure the back plate to the inside wall surface. Insure that the door swings freely before tightening. Insert the closure panel into the tracks. Slide the panel up to allow the door to open and down to seal the door opening.
