The Mendota British style slip lead features premium, strong, 1/2" solid braid multi-filament UV coated polypropylene rope, leather sleeves and brass ring. Used by trainers, field trial and hunting test participants. Leash and slip collar in one allows for correction. Adjustable leather slide keeps "collar" in place. "Broken-in" feel is easy on the hands and allows easy folding to fit in a pocket. 1/2" x 4 feet. Made in the USA.

Great slip lead!

We got the 4 ft slip lead- perfect length, doesn't get caught up in pup's legs. Easy on and off. We bought extras for family retrievers.

This was my 4th Mendota lead and it, for my money, is still the best of all leads, leashes, harnesses I've tried. Gives me control of my buddy and is comfortable for both her and me. I replace them only because I want a new one -- they don't wear out.

Lead works great easily fitting over her Rex Specs and Garmin Beeper collar. No more trying to snap on collar ring.

We've been using these for 15 years with very large dogs great Danes in English mastiffs (120-260lbs) and they simply are the best leads. They are simple effective kind, but allow the dog to understand the commands from the lead. No spoke collars no chokers simple and effective

I had one of these previously and lost it last week on a quail hunt. It's wonderfully convenient to have a lead in my game bag and pull it out when I need to control the dog. Orange is easier to see than green.

Picked this up for a quick and easy lead during training. Seems to be well built can be used as a short walking lead also. Would like to see a different type stop adjuster though. I think this will eventually loosen in time.

My Katie pulls rather badly when she's walked. I've tried various leashes and leads for her and the Mendota British-Style slip lead is the best I've found. I just ordered my fourth. It's simple to put on, is comfortable for both me and Katie and it gives me more control over her in our walks than anything else I've used.

  • When it wears for awhile the "slip" feature doesn't work as well. Sometimes have to loosen by hand.

great for heel-work

I've had this lead for a while and use it nearly daily with my lab puppy. It's super lightweight, yet feels sturdy. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, it tightens when you pull on it and loosens when you release the tension.

We got this leash for entering the dock at Dock Diving competitions. My wife wanted a leash which allowed control of dog when in a very excited condition and also easy to remove once ready to jump. the leash works great on both accounts and is wide and soft enough not to cut into her hand

I ordered two; one for Ben, the Springer, and the other because I work at a vets and find that a heavier leash is much more useful than those supplied. Also I like the 4' as I have more control moving dogs around the building, and also they are only wearing a name collar, so a standard leash is pretty useless.

I like the leash, but I think my dog is much too young, as he bites the leash. I have tryed every thing to stop that but he likes bitter apple, vinegar, all those things. Hopefully with more training that will stop. But the leash is of excellent quality.
