Summary: I hunt 30+ days/year for grouse and woodcock. I will not enter the woods without this tool. This vest is the best I have tried. By: Nancy FarlowThese vests are great; I have one for each of my 3 dogs. I like the fact that they can be worn alone or over a coat in cold weather. My dogs don't have the problem of the vest sliding back as one reviewer mentioned. Maybe due to different body shapes. My dogs have deep chests and are quite tucked up in the belly, where the strap rests.5 347 reflective safety vest Reviewed: November 17, 2011

By: Matoca2 dogs: Schnauzer. Pet. We have used these for many years and currently use them for two dogs. We keep two sets, one day and one night. They are "pre-loaded" on their own collars so we don't have to keep attaching to a collar, plus they fit better this way. We have sewn fabric bands on either side of the reflective tape on the night vests and attach flashing lights. Why not spend $15 to save your dog's life? I can't tell you how many of these we have bought in the last 13 years. Great product. We found that a slightly smaller size than recommended fit our dogs better (deep chested dogs).5 2919 Breakaway Reviewed: December 14, 2009
By: Rick HayhoeActually I'd rate this as very good, somewhere between good and excellent, and I have to say it's the better of the two kinds I've used.
Good points are high visibility from the sides, including reflective strips, and the fact that the velcro allows the dog to get loose if hung up in brush by the vest, which I have seen happen twice. Another vest I've used makes it too hard for the dog to get free. The vest washes easily and sheds most dirt. The fluorescent orange will fade with time, naturally, but more slowly with this vest than the other I heve tried.
The one negative I have encountered is that the front flap has to be brought under and around the dog's collar for attachment, which can be difficult to do at times--in the rain, if the dog is very wet or if the dog is excited. You have to make sure the dog's collar is aligned where it normally rests, too, because if it is rotated as you put the vest on, it will pull the vest over to one side or the other as it rotates back to its natural position. I'd like to see it attach to the dog's neck independent of the collar. The other vest I've tried does, but it does so by using plastic locking lugs that are too hard for the dog to break loose if hung up. Velcro works better in that situation.4 140 It Works Reviewed: February 5, 2011
By: SurlyBobBought one for each of my dogs. They're avid hikers/off leash runners. The fit was good. Good visibility and they're light so they don't interfere with the dogs movements. Only issue was the Velcro wore out after a year where they attach around the collar. Not a big deal considering the price and if you're comfortable with a sewing machine. I'd buy them again, but fixing the ones I have is just as effective. 4 366 Does the job Reviewed: February 1, 2010
By: GoldMomIt does the job - very easy to spot your dog. However the fit is weird. One end loops around the dogs collar, and the back part loops around the belly. It seems like no matter where I position the belly strap, the vest slides back and pulls on the collar. This cannot be comfortable for the dog. Although, it is more comfrotable than getting shot, so she will wear it until I find a suitable replacement. 3 173 |
