Read more about the Retriever Hunt Tests Book by James B. Spencer
James B. Spencer has been involved with retrievers since the late 1940s and with hunt tests since their beginnings in the early 1980s. He has judged AKC, UKC, and NAHRA tests and competed with a variety of breeds.
The author of nine books along with the "retrieve" column for Gun Dog Magazine, he has campaigned his own retrievers at all levels of AKC hunting tests, campaigned spaniels at all levels and judged all levels of AKC spaniel hunting tests. He has conducted retriever and spaniel training seminars all over the country.
According to Jim, his first choice of a title for this book would be, "Your First Hunt Test - Things 'They' Forgot to Tell You!" He's filled the wide gap in the literature concerning effective handling in hunt tests by compiling a wealth of information in a concise and easy-to-follow manner that is an absolute must for the beginner.
Also a perfect refresher for even the most experienced and skillful hunt test handler, this is a book written for hunt testers at every level.
As Spencer says, "We ALL need periodic refreshers!"
