Summary: I have used the Mendota Skid Plate for three years. It is a wonderful product and protects the dog very well. It is also very durable. The dog know when the skid plate goes on, it is time for business. The only thing that I would like to see on the skid plate is for the straps to be blaze orange as well as the vest, so that my dog looks less like a deer.
Great product! Allows dogs to move freely but protects against punctures, barb wire and abrasions from heavy cover. Well work the protection.

Excellent product. Only issue is that snow tends to pack in the chest area when going through heavier snow cover. Wish it gave more front leg protection but none of the others do either.

I have not hunted them yet, but I like out they fit my dogs and they are bright orange which is good. They also are built strong with nice thick fabric to protect the dogs.
