Summary: An extremely versatile no bark collar with three modes of operation. The Progressive mode is very impressive, allowing dogs to learn to bark responsibly. (*the only improvement I can think of would be to allow me to suggest the starting point in Progressive mode for harder dogs) I've successfully used this collar to help interrupt: (1) separation anxiety, (2) destructive behavior (where noise is an established part of the ramp up to the destructive behaviour), (3) alert barking in reactive dogs and even (4) aggressive behavior (where alert barking is an established part of the ramp up to the act of aggression). Best of all rechargeable means great value, no more running around, shopping for batteries, when you could be working your dogs.

By: DougI got the collars last night and got them charged up. I have a beagle (you can probably hear her in Starkville on most days) and a Lab. They both spent the entire day outside and I have not heard ONE PEEP out of either of them today!

By: MauraThis has been perfect product. Our rescued hound barked until my neighbors were insane and we were fit to be as well. Two years of using consisten behavioral training, and then finally trying correction collars and ultrasonics- we were broke and crazy! This has been a more humane solution than others - fewer corrections because it works correctly and he understands. Unlike other collars there are no false corrections. It works where all else failed.

I just wanted you to know I have tried everything to control my dog's bark from Petsafe shock brands to citronelle collars.
They always worked for a day or so but my dog would always end up barking.
I admit, I was very skeptical spending more money on another collar but I was desperate. I had even considered voice box surgery.
This product worked on my Maltese. We are much happier now. Great job on this product - The charge works for a very long time. Thank you so much.

The last brand had many false corrections, which caused my dog to bite me because I was unable to remove it fast enough between false corrections. Then the Sport Dog SBC-10R came along. The "Cadillac", & affordable. No other collar has their features, including a safety mode that prohibits false corrections. Easy to recharge, holds its charge. It works on my dog so well. I have only heard one tiny correction in a week. I just ordered 3 more. I know it will train my dogs faster than ever before, and safer. Thank you.

By: LindaMy son recommended this collar and he was right. We only had to use the collar twice, on the lowest setting, and our dog quit barking at the neighbor dog for a week. She then went outside and barked and all I had to do was show her the collar and she stopped barking. Thank you for this great product. I highly recommend this product for anyone who is trying to train a dog to quit barking.

By: BonnieI bought this collar as a last chance for my dog, Brandy. She would bark all day and I had received threats from neighbors to shut her up...after trying several other no bark collars, it came down to this one either working or find her a new home.
This collar saved her life. She barked once and learned her lesson. I can let the battery die and she wont bark.
She is a sweet rescue dog that was never taught manners and not to bark.
During a recent move, the charger was lost. Just having the collar on her worked...for awhile, until she realized it didnt zap her. She again, barked all day...This collar is amazing. When nothing else worked...this one did.

This is at least the 4th if not the 5th no bark collar that we have purchased over the years and the 10R works far better that any other collar. The fact that Raleigh doesn't bark at all when wearing the collar has really calmed him down.

NOT for dogs that snore!! I have 3 dogs, one Boxer, and two Boston Terriers and when one 'alerts' to something they think should be barked at there's no stopping the 3 of them so I purchased two of these units for the two main barkers (Bostons-the Boxer mainly grumbles) in an attempt to save our sanity! My male Boston Terrier quickly learned a bark that does not set the collar off! I will say that this bark is preferable to his 'pre-collar' bark and much more tolerable, but the main problem is that the collar DOES go off when he snores!! This collar is a godsend on my female Boston Terrier though, and well worth the investment.
I have purchased a replacement collar to fit the unit to my Boxer, and will go with SD400 training collar for my mail Boston so that I have control over when he is corrected, rather than depending on a collar to discern between his barking and snoring/snorting which is really quite loud If your dog isn't clever enough to work his bark around the collar and does not snore this is a PERFECT collar (I've had it for a couple of months and have only charged it twice!) ...function, size, options, etc.

How the SportDOG NoBark 10R Works
The SportDOG NoBark SBC 10R anti-bark collar uses several features designed to shorten the training phase and promote good behavior. A patented sensor system provides the most reliable bark detection available. The unit delivers a static correction via the contact points only if it detects both vibration from the vocal cords and the sound of the bark.
Three Modes of Operation
The Sport DOG No Bark 10R has three user-selectable modes of operation allowing you to choose how corrections are given. These three modes are indicated by the light color and the display combination.
Temperament Learning -- The patent pending Temperament Learning (indicated by green light) mode tracks the number of corrections needed to substantially reduce (and in most cases eliminate) the number of nuisance barks. The system provides 10 levels of static correction. It begins with a low-level correction (level 0). However, if excessive barking continues, the correction intensity will increase with each successive bark until the barking stops. This correction level becomes the starting level the next time the dog barks. Once the dog has learned to reduce the barking, the initial warning corrections are reduced.
Progressive Correction -- In Progressive Correction mode (indicated by blue/green light), the correction starts at the lowest level and progresses to the next level (to a maximum of Level 9) each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. If your dog does not bark again within 30 seconds, the correction level will be reset to the lowest level (Level 0).
User-Selected Correction -- In the User-Selected Correction mode (indicated by
blue light only), the user presets the correction level (0-9) that will be used every time the dog barks. Note: As a built-in safety feature, if your dog barks 15 times or more within an 80 second period, the NoBark 10R will automatically shut off for 3 minutes. This safety feature is active in all three modes of operation.
Single-Button Functionality
The Sport DOG No-Bark 10R has a single button that allows you to turn the unit on and off, display the current operating mode, and change the operating mode.
Turn the Collar On -- Press and release the button while the unit is off. The light will flash green five times and then display the current operating mode as described above. (see "Three Modes of Operation")
Turn the Collar Off -- Press the button until the display goes blank and the red light comes on. Then release the button. The light will flash red four times and stop flashing completely. If you continue to push the button for more than 5 seconds, you will begin changing modes.
Display Current Operating Mode -- Press the button and hold it for less than 2 seconds before releasing it. The unit will display the current operating mode and the battery condition.
Change Active Operating Mode -- Press the button and hold
it for at least 5 seconds. The mode will advance and be displayed as described above.
Continue to hold the button to advance to the next available mode. Every 2 seconds the mode will advance and be displayed.
When the desired mode is displayed, release the button. The selected mode will be displayed during this time.
Once the button has been released for 5 seconds, the new operating mode will go into effect. The display will flash four times and then the unit will resume normal operation using the new operating mode. The light will flash every five seconds to indicate the current mode.
If the push-button is released too early, simply press it again within 5 seconds. The mode will advance and continue as described above.
Parts of the SportDOG NoBark 10R
1. Mode Switch: Adjusts the operating mode and level of correction your dog receives when barking. This switch is also used to turn the NoBark 10R on and off.
2. Sound-Activated Sensor: Detects your dog's bark.
3. Contact Points: Newly designed contact points eliminate the need for short and long probes and deliver a safe static correction.
4. Vibration Sensor Probe: Detects the vibrations of your dog's barking.
5. LCD Display: Displays the current mode of operation based on the color and the numeric indicator. Also displays the condition of the battery (Full, OK, Low).
6. Charge Port: Receptacle for the battery charger.
7. Battery Charger (not shown): Plugs into a standard wall receptacle for charging the collar.
Fitting the NoBark 10R
The proper fit and placement of your SportDOG NoBark 10R is important for effective operation. The contact points must have direct contact with your dog's skin on the underside of his neck. To assure a proper fit, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure the NoBark 10R is off.
2. Start with your dog standing comfortably.
3. Place the NoBark 10R high on your dog's neck close to the ears. Center the contact points underneath your dog's neck, touching the skin. Note: It is sometimes necessary to trim the hair around the contact points to make sure that contact is consistent.
4. Check the tightness of the NoBark 10R by inserting one finger between the end of a contact point and your dog's neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting.
5. Allow your dog to wear the NoBark 10R for several minutes, then recheck the fit. Check the fit again as your dog becomes more comfortable with the NoBark 10R.
Use of the SportDOG NoBark 10R
Do not leave your dog alone the first few times he receives a correction. Place the NoBark 10R properly on your dog and wait nearby until he barks. Most dogs will understand quickly that the NoBark 10R is disrupting their urge to bark, and will relax and stop barking. Because the correction may be surprising or startling at first, some dogs may bark more at the initial correction. On rare occasions, a dog may get into a "bark-correction-bark-correction" cycle. If this happens, reassure your dog with calm, soothing tones. As your dog relaxes, he will understand that if he becomes quiet, he will not receive more corrections. Of the few dogs that have this reaction, it usually occurs only the first time they wear the NoBark 10R.
You should notice a reduction in your dog's barking within the first couple of days that he wears the NoBark 10R. At this point, it is important to remember that the learning process is still not complete. Dogs will "test" the new learning experience and will increase their attempts to bark. This usually occurs during the second week a dog wears the NoBark 10R. If this does occur, remain consistent and do not alter your use of the NoBark 10R. You must place the NoBark 10R on your dog in every situation when you expect him to be quiet. If your dog is not wearing the NoBark 10R, he may resume barking and his learning would suffer a setback.
Charging
The NoBark 10R contains a rechargeable battery pack. When the unit indicates that the battery is low (battery icon on the display indicates 1 bar or less and/or the light flashes red 3 times every 5 seconds), it is time to recharge the unit. Even though the average time between charges is 30 - 60 days (depending on how often your dog barks), it's a good idea to check the battery weekly to see if it needs charging. Due to greater use during your dog's training, your first battery charge may not last as long. To conserve battery life, turn the NoBark 10R off when not in use. Follow these steps to charge the battery:
1. Remove the NoBark 10R from your dog.
2. Plug the battery charger into a standard household receptacle.
3. Plug the other end of the battery charger into the NoBark 10R charge port. The light will flash the sequence Green-Blue-Red to indicate that charging has started.
4. During charging, keep the NoBark 10R in an open, well-ventilated area. The light will flash red twice every 10 seconds to indicate that charging is active.
5. When charging is complete, the battery charger will automatically shut off, preventing overcharging. The light will flash green twice every 10 seconds to indicate that charging is complete. Note: The battery should fully charge in less than 4 hours.
6. Remove the battery charger from the charge port. The light will flash the sequence Red-Blue-Green to indicate the unit is no longer charging.
7. Unplug the battery charger.
Note: The SportDOG NoBark 10R will automatically turn off when the battery charger is connected to it. Therefore, following a charge, turn the unit back on before using it.

Will my dog stop barking completely? -- The SportDOG NoBark 10R
