Garmin Tri-Tronics PRO TrashbreakerExpandable to 9 dogs with up to 4 miles of range! The Garmin PRO Trashbreaker with Tri-Tronics technology gives you one-hand training and control of up to 9 dogs (additional receiver collars available separately) from up to 4 miles away, depending on terrain. The top-mounted selection dial provides 6 levels of stimulation intensity and tone settings for easy adjustability. Remote operated Beacon Lights built into the receiver collar help you locate your dog in low light situations, and the built-in BarkLimiter (activated on the receiver collar) helps keep your kennel a little quieter when you get back home. Not available to Canadian addresses.
![]() Steve Says: Garmin PRO Trashbreaker"Take the Trashbreaker, double the range to 4-miles, expand it to up to 9 dogs, and add a new, high-visibility color scheme. That's the new TRASHBREAKER PRO"4-Mile RangeThe Trashbreaker PRO is now the longest range remote collar with an unheard range of 4 miles (line of sight). MURS Frequency The PRO Trashbreaker works off of a different radio signal from previous Trashbreaker units. The PRO Trashbreaker uses MURS Frequency, the same radio frequency that Garmin uses with the Garmin Alpha and Astro which will give you range up to 4 miles in ideal situations. Expands up to 9 Dogs The PRO Trashbreaker is the first Tri-Tronics system that allows you to control up to 9 dogs from one transmitter. The PRO TB uses a 3 position toggle switch that allows you to select between the 9 dogs. External Collar Antenna To get the maximum range out of your PRO Trashbreaker, the collar receiver has a long range whip style cable antenna. This is the same kind of antenna used on the Garrmin Alpha TT 10 and the Garmin Astro DC 50 collars. They are extremely durable and hold up in the harshest of conditions. HOWEVER: The antenna can limit where you can use the Bark Limiter function While the antenna on the Trashbreaker collar is mighty tough, it is not chew proof. You need to keep this in mind if you kennel your dogs together or if you plan on using the Bark Limiter option on the Trashbreaker while your dog is in the backyard. Other dogs will be attracted to this antenna and chewing will be an issue. Trashbreaker Transmitter Antenna The PRO Trashbreaker uses a removable flex VHF antenna. This is the same MURS antenna that is used on the Garmin Astro and Garmin Alpha handhelds. We have had good luck with them holding up with heavy use. Hi Viz Face Plate The PRO Trashbreaker has a Hi Viz Yellow faceplate on the handheld transmitter. This is designed to make the unit easier to see WHEN you drop it in the brush. PRO Trashbreaker FEATURES: Transcript from Steve's Video: This is the Garmin Tri-Tronics Pro Trashbreaker. Out of all the new pro units, this one has been changed the most, but it really has just been an increase of what this unit was designed for. The Trashbreaker was designed for long distance problem solving. And what they have done with the Pro Trashbreaker is just accentuated everything about it that was good. Instead of being a two-mile collar, the Pro Trashbreaker is now a four-mile collar. It is the longest range e-collar in the market. And it is designed for folks running big running hounds that need to have a problem solving unit, mainly for, the name says it all, stopping them from running trash. To get the four-mile range out of the Pro Trashbreaker, Garmin has gone to the MURS-based radio system. What that means is that you’ve got a little longer antenna and you’ve also got an antenna on the collar. What this does is it’s a different radio frequency than what we’ve had before, and it can transmit a longer distance than the 27 megahertz that we’ve used with older systems. A lot of folks probably aren’t going to be happy to go back to an antenna on the collar, but all the hound guys that I’ve talked to don’t seem to mind. They are already running systems that have antennas, Alphas and Astros, and so having a remote training collar that has an antenna, it’s just not that big of a deal, especially if they are getting that long range in those tough situations. So far we’ve been real impressed with what we’ve seen range test wise. This system will throw a signal a long, long way. And that’s great, especially if you need to make a correction at a distance or if you need to use tone as a recall to get your hounds back to you. Another new feature on the Pro Trashbreaker is the addition of beacon lights. What Garmin has done is they have taken what was the tracer light and they built it into the collar. It’s one button per dog, so on your dial you have an L position for lights. Turn your dial to L and then hold down your stim button and your lights come on. It’s great for folks that are running at night and want to be able to see their dogs. It’s perfect for dogs that might be crossing roads to protect them for cars. It’s just an easy way to keep up with them at night. Once you are through and need to cut them off, go back to your L position and press your button again. So, remote control on and off on the lights. It’s a great safety feature. It will help you keep up with your dogs and protect them while they are out there. The Pro Trashbreaker also has a built-in bark limiter. To activate the bark limiter, on the collar you hold down the on/off button and then watch your indicator light. It’s going to turn red and then blue. When it’s on the blue, you release the button and now it’s in bark collar mode. The bark collar mode on this is an auto-rise. It’s an 18 level auto-rise collar. What that means is as your dog barks, the stimulation level is going to gradually increase until it finds the right level for him. One thing I like to point out for folks, though, is that you’ve still got this antenna on here. If you are kenneling your dogs together or if they are in the backyard and there are other dogs out there, you want to be careful about that. These antennas are incredibly tough and they hold up to a lot, but they are not chew-proof. So just think about it when you put it into a situation to make sure that you don’t have a dog out there that’s just chewing up one of your antennas. Another new feature in the Pro Trashbreaker is the addition of three more dogs. Instead of being a six-dog system, the Trashbreaker is a nine-dog system. So you can take your one dog collar and you can add eight additional units and operate nine dogs from one transmitter. What they’ve done is they’ve added an additional position on the toggle switch. In the up position you have Dogs 1, 2, and 3. And then in the down position you have 4, 5, 6. And then in the middle position we have 7, 8, 9. If you’ll notice, the rings are a little different also. You’ve got black, red, blue, and then we have purple, gray, tan, and then on the outside we’ve got orange, green, and yellow. That gives you nine different collar straps. And you identify your dogs through the button colors. Everything matches up just like we’ve done in the past, it’s just that instead of having a two position toggle switch, we now have a three. The Pro Trashbreaker is the ultimate collar for folks that are running dogs at great distances. It’s really designed for the hound owner that has big running dogs. So you’ve got the option of having up to nine dogs from one transmitter and just superior range to anything that’s out there. Really impressed with what Garmin’s done with this unit. They’ve taken everything that was good about the Trashbreaker and they’ve just made it better. So, for the folks that need that long distance control, this is the product for you. Great hunting tool!
January 23, 2023
The trash breaker system is easy to use and is a great tool for training young dogs. I bought this system so that my kids could hunt and train their dogs when I'm at work and not able to be with them. It has made our hunts more enjoyable! I grew up rabbit hunting with my Grandad. When he passed away in 2005 I stopped hunting because he was my best hunting partner ever. I took my boys a couple years back and they fell in love with rabbit hunting so we bought some old dogs and some puppies and the collars have helped so much to train the dogs and all 5 of my kids love rabbit hunting now. Thanks, a great product.

This has been a game changer for my two dogs; a German Sheppard & a Brittany Spaniel. The bark control mode works great and in training mode generally do not have to stimulus after they have felt a mild dose of it once, Tone is all they need! Great product at a fair price.

Pleased with Trashbreaker

I bought this two-dog system to replace my last Trashbreaker. This newest one seems easier to use, and is working well with my dogs, though it is still very early on in the year.

Worth my sanity
December 8, 2020
The trashbreaker was recommended by a friend and it has been worth the money. The bark arrestor has controlled our two dogs barking. That has kept me from going insane and most likely my neighbors as well. The item arrived in a timely manner even during COVID. The lithium rechargeable batteries had been charged when the product arrived at least a month or more ago and still haven't needed recharging yet. In the dark you can turn on an LED light on the collar remotely and watch the dogs run around in the dark. Level 2 and 3 work fine on my dogs and it goes all the way to level 8. Setting up with a second collar was easy.I don't like that you can't have the bark arrestor on the same time as the trainer. The antenna on the collar is really long and I have to loop it back around to keep my dogs from chewing on them. I would recommend this to a friend.

The control I now have over my beagles: a few don't have collars on them but because I've trained them with the collars they respond to the dogs with collars rather than its tone or stimulation. Great!

My only regret is having bought a less expensive collar on amazon before I bought this. That was a total waste of money. This collar is great. I have a problem with my young dog chasing cows or anything that moves away from him fast, horses, chickens etc. A couple days with this and he's already got the message. You don't even have to see him, he can be off chasing in the back field and you can warn him off with the tone and if he doesn't respond use the shock. He actually gets excited when you get it out and put it on him because he knows he's going outside. Worth every penny!Super easy to use!

This is one of the best shocking collar systems I've ever owned. I've owned many systems within the last 10 years. However, this one has good lighting and good tone sound for the dogs to hear, also when they don't listen they respond very well to the shocking. Thanks for this awesome product.

This is by far the best shocking system I have ever owned. My dogs get a long distance away from me at times, and this system will reach them in the thickest cover from a long distance. So far so good. I'm hoping it works just as good when the leaves and grass get thick which I'm sure it's going to.

I'm glad I ordered this from Gundogsupply.com because they were the only seller that offered to sell the set. All the other websites sold each collar separately(all were red). Gundogsupply is the only seller that realized the collars needed to be different colors to match the handheld device. They shipped the collars that had the red collar in each box, but also sent the correct colored collars (without charging extra money).
