The #1 thing to get right with this vest is the fit — and the #1 measurement that matters is chest girth, not weight and not "he's a big dog." Measure directly behind your dog's front legs.

If your dog's measurement falls between two sizes, go with the smaller size. This isn't a guess — it's what years of fittings have taught us.

Choosing between X-Small Short and X-Small? Go by length: X-Small Short runs about 13", X-Small runs about 14 1/2".

Break It In

This vest is tough by design, which means it starts out a little stiff. A hand wash or two before extended wear softens the material without giving up any of its ripstop durability.
