I mean it's a whistle, what do you expect? It works well and I like the brass. My dog doesn't side-eye me when I use it like, "Jesus that's a crappy whistle!". I'm happy with it.

This whistle is excellent quality, and super loud. My dog always hears it. The best part of it is, it fits in that little pocket in the front of your jeans that seems to have no other purpose! Definitely recommend.

Purchased six of these so we'd always have one handy to get the attention of our four dogs of various lineages and levels of training. The wind is always blowing on our rural property and the dogs sometimes 'didn't hear you' when you call. While I can whistle loudly using my fingers, my wife and daughter cannot, and after working with the horses in the pasture I rarely want to put my fingers in my mouth. The dogs cannot ignore this whistle! And they have responded to it in mid-skunk-chasing stride! We're very pleased with the quality, convenience, and volume!

This whistle is loud and clear. It should be a staple in every dog person's training bag. I own several and recently purchased two more for my infant grandson. Great product.

I have used these since a lifeguard in the 1950's. I go through about six per year, many as gifts. Although I haven't had a dog in 15 years, I always have a couple ACME "Thunderers" in my pockets. All of our Family's Ladies have one r two. We are getting a new Yellow Lab very soon.

I asked for a nice loud whistle and this whistle was suggested. I absolutely love how loud and the tone which will carry even in a strong wind when most people say you can't hear I heard this one no problem so I know if I could hear it and my dog could also. ?

The brass whistle works great and has a very strong sound!! Unlike the plastic type whistle when the ball sticks inside the cylinder.

While I have 2 dogs and do hunt, I am actually a licensed falconer, and I bought this whistle as a means to recall my Bird, Raja, back to the fist, and it works great! I needed a whistle that was loud enough for my bird to hear when I wanted him to return to my fist and where I did not have to blow in it so hard to get it to work and that I could use in the fields where we will be hunting. So far this whistle has exceeded my expectations, and I love using it! :D

I am a Shriner and participate in parades as part of the Parade Escort team. We need a whistle, and everyone said I had to get an Acme Thunderer. Gun Dog Supply was the least expensive, and after dealing with them for this order, they also have GREAT customer service.

Loud and very easy to blow and modulate volume. May want to wear hearing protection until you get used to it. Takes me back to my lifeguard days!
