Raccoon Scent for Dog Training - 16 oz.

We have a 9 month old blue tick hound, that has a good breed line for hunting. Currently she's excellent at finding rabbit and going crazy over their scent so we are trying to transition her over to the coon scent. She was interested in this and licked the product once placed on the drag. she did follow the trail somewhat. I feel that she needs more training with it but it maybe promising. She did not ball at the scent like she does on the rabbit scent.

I have a 6 year old Walker rescue that I would like to develop into a coon dog. I purchased this training scent and was advised to treat him as if he's a 6 month old and work from the beginning. He has shown very little interest in the bottled scent that I put on the drag. Perhaps it's because he's smelled and tasted the real world but he'd much rather pursue live game. I will not be using the bottled scent any more and will switch to a trapped and released coon method. It could possibly work for a young dog but definitely not a dog with some real would experience. I will order more supplies from them in the first just not this bottled scent.

I had no problems with this. It worked on all 3 of my dogs that are still kinda young. It tough them how to track and they even bark now. It made training a lot easier. I would recommend this to everyone. Thank you, Gun Dog Supply and Steve for making this amazing scent.

This is the beast sent to train a coon hound with. It smalls like a coon.

Don't really work. I had some old coon scent that worked good, but this did not have any smell. Must have been a bad bottle, but this is a great company.

I am a coon dog trainer and hunt test runner and to me this is the best training scent out there out on the market. The dogs have a hard time smelling most of the other brands out there. With this brand all you need to do is use a little and they will track it right to the end of the trail every time. Thank you for the great product.

My puppy loves it and will trail it great, but I don't get a great response from the older broke dogs. So not too sure on how much it smells like a real raccoon.

Coon scent is very strong so one bottle should go a long ways. The pups are picking it up fast.

Works well for all three dogs. Gets them very excited and 'talking'. Very helpful training scent. Well worth the money.

Love the scent works well. Just a suggestion, put a pump spray in with bottle for application to drag dummies. It's easier and cleaner than pouring on to rag and getting it on your hands. Otherwise great product.

This product has a good strong smell that really helps out young pups. The scent lasts quite a long time on your drag dummy as well, so you don't have to put more on each time you would like to train your dog or dogs!!

I used other brands of raccoon scents, and my dogs had a hard time finding the trail, so I tried the National brand, and my dogs find the trail every time. I told some of my buddy's to come and try it, and they also were very happy to find a scent that really works. After this bottle I will buy another.

This scent was bought for our coon clubs first event of the season. The dogs had no problem trailing it in the field trials 3/15/2014. In fact, a lot of the dog owners said they never smelled such a strong and nasty trailing scent and asked if maybe I should dilute it. I said "NO". Will be buying more.
