My puppy prefers this one.

Great for retrieval training. After a few sessions my puppy prefers the dokken over everything else. I also purchased the injector and qual scent to treat the trainer.

Purchased to replace one used for years. This training aid is hands down the best on the market as of now.

Great for Smaller Dogs
February 11, 2021
My 1.5 year old Lab is smaller than most at 55 lbs. She loves to retrieve and I bought a Dokkens Ruffed Grouse trainer so close to the birds I hunt. It's larger than most grouse I kill and my dog, with a smaller mouth, had a hard time carrying it. The quail trainer is the right size.

Great size for a puppy in training. We prefer this over a plastic bumper.

My dog loves to retrieve this. Addition of scent makes it as close to the real thing as possible, in that throwing into cover requires him to find it by scent.

Haven't used it enough to form a solid opinion. Dogs do seem to want to pick it up by the plastic head or feet.

Bird dog picked up the scent placed on it, but saw the decoy, and reacted; 'oh fake' and moved on.

Would be better if it had a cavity for bird wings for natural smell.
