I'm using the Dogtra Pheasant Launcher to condition my Pointing Labrador to hold to wing. I like that I can control the release of the bird. I've been able to time the launch to the slightest movement of my dog. I've only used on two seperate occasions, but I've already seen an improvement.

Homers from racing lines can be big - and wanted to have room to throw a pheasant as well so went with the PL. My birds would fit in the QL - but it was really snug on a few of my birds. Its durable and put together well. With the correct charge - it has all the range I need, tbough I have a close working young dog. Shipped fast, and was comparable in price to the other outlets. Plan on using it for falconry as well, so we'll see how it does in the Montana winter at WAY below zero.

Dogtra Remote launcher

Replaced an old unit with this new version. I use this as much or more for training/conditioning my falcons than I do as a training aid for my English Setters. Being able to remotely launch pigeons or pheasant a long distance from me more closely duplicates hunting wild quarry and helps to keep the falcon from looking to me for these opportunities. There's no substitute for wild quarry but when a young falcon needs confidence or an old one conditioning after the off-season, I find this device priceless. Of course I also do use the launcher with any new puppies I'm starting and I find it a valuable training aid as they mature.
