DT Systems R.A.P.T. 1400 Remote Training Collar

I have two collars and one remote so that I can work two dogs simultaneously. Durable and great range.

The handheld devise works great ... someone should have thought of that design a long time ago.The only thing I would like to see improved for my particular situation is the weight of the collar. It's a little heavy for my smaller-sized GSP. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Took my 7month old dog out after getting him back from the trainer. The trainer recommended this product. Very impressed. Dog seemed to respond well to it. Easy to use, convenient, loud even with cap on the horn.

i purchased this collar on the recommendation of a friend that hunts birds in Minnesota and South Dakota with his Deutsch LangHaar. My Large Munsterelander, who has a very high prey drive when we are hunting, responded quickly to the vibrate action of the collar, and is becoming much better with his consistency to follow commands I have only had this system for a month so I am confident this system will help him get much better. I also love the option for the beeper function to keep track of him in thick, high coverwhen he is often out of sight. It is frustrating if I don't know where he is, or if he happens to range out to far. The collar has very good range, excellent choice of functions and features, and the battery life has been good between charges. Happy hunting ! .

Second DT System purchased for our hunting dogs!

It is heavier than I expected. I thought the description stated 3.5 oz however they are much heavier than this. Also the cap for the beeper comes off easily so I'm having to use tape for it to stay on. Easy fix but at the price I paid I shouldn't have to do this.

Early to tell but comparing with Tri-tronics. Seems okay so far.

Been using this unit for about a month now. Really like the freedom this hands free model provides. It allows me to restrain my young energetic lab puppy to teach steadiness without fumbling for the handset after the dummy is thrown. Allows me to train solo, when a helper is not available. Only downside so far is the contact points for the battery in the handset are too loose. Had to adjust twice now because the battery was not making full contact and working properly. Collar charges very quickly and holds a charge for a long time..

I have a very well trained puppy, but he is a very stubborn breed of dog. There are times when he just doesn't want to listen, but with this collar it has really taken his training over the top. He also listens better when the collar isn't even on.

The design would have worked well, and the electronics seemed sound, however it is so cheaply made I was even afraid to use it more than one time. Switching between dogs with it's Tinkertoy kind of knob, just doesn't cut it. I returned it.

I had bought the R.A.P.T.1400 on the strength of one of their first offerings. That collar is over 10 years old, and still works great. I had some problems with the R.A.P.T 1400 collar, but the service from D.T. Systems was outstanding, I will say. My advice would be not to place the excess collar in a loop away from the neck of the dog as shown in the photos of the unit. Rather, duct tape the excess collar length down each time against the regular part of the collar, after making sure to strap the unit down tightly on the narrowest part of the dogs head to make sure that the collar will not come off. You can cut off the excess, but that will shorten the distance of the radio control.

The product was easy to program and works excellent.

I got this to replace a tri tronics it does not hold a battery long and it not as strong but I needed something that had lower settings it's doing great for that

Cheaply made, don't like 9v battery rather prefer rechargeable transmitter, don't like the on/ off system, do like the concept...
