This is an excellent bumper to teach "hold" for a puppy. As it is intended for puppies, do not expect it to be made of firehose material. It is not a chew toy and won't last as such. Because it has a soft hand it seems to be more enjoyable to the pup and also seems hold scent well. My 4 mo old lab loves having it in her mouth.

I have a Cocker Spaniel pup that was able to pick this up and retrieve it - took the little tyke a second to figure it out, but he has no problem with it. Would be great for all puppies.
