The Polar Vest is a soft and warm high-visibility vest that moves with your dog. This close-fitting vest helps protect your dog's rib cage and keeps it dry. Available in Orange, Yellow, and Pink.
My Roxy is brindle colored, so we always keep an orange vest on her when out in the woods. I bought the medium size when she was younger, and it worked great, so now that she's grown we got her the large size. Well made and it fits well, giving full range of motion. Very visible. Resists snags or tears. Nice heavy zipper. G

I called customer service about sizing since my Springer was between sizes and they suggested that I order two sizes and return the one that didn't fit. I'm glad I followed their advice she returned the wrong size very easily. We live in NYC and get so many compliments on the style of the vest and it's perfect for our many hikes outside the city (especially in the snow). Great fit! Thanks for the great customer service!

This is the only vest we could find big enough for our 100-160 lb dogs. We love the material! The same soft-shell I wear myself. The dogs seem to really like their vests. The vests material and stitching as well as zippers and snaps have held up well. My dogs have worn these 8 hrs a day for 18 days now running thru the forest and playing in the creek. A few small tears/rips have happened to the vest of our roughest dog. Nothing a few stitches won't fix. Great product!

Really nice quality vest. My dog has a deep chest and this is the only vest that I have tried that does not turn to one side or the other when he is running. I feel a lot better about having him run loose during hunting season, as it is highly visible. Very satisfied with purchase.

My 55# dog Theo was between sizes. The large is just a little loose but overall a good fit. He can run and crash around through the woods and it doesn't limit his movement. Good quality, handsome, and allows me to worry less about him being mistaken for a small deer during hunting season!

I love this, full chest protection when running through brush. The visibility is fantastic. There is a small snap button at the beginning of the zip...make sure you use it because it stops the zip from becoming undone and losing the jacket.

We live in the snow belt of NE Ohio and was looking for something to protect our Viszla, Gus, from some of the severe weather we get. The Hurtta vest does a good job of this without restricting Gus' mobility. The fact that the vest is hunter orange is an added benefit in making him more visible in the woods. Gus is 48" and it fits him very well.

this vest is better than I suspected it would be. It handles briers well. I got these vests for my Ladner Blackmouth Curs for safety reasons. I didn't want someone to make a mistake during deer season and I also wanted drivers to be able to see them in the event that they crossed roadways while treeing raccoons. Well worth the investment.

Great vest! Good quality. Love how it hugs my very athletic border collie/ shepherd mix. No worries about her getting it caught on anything as she rips around the yard and with hiking in the woods. The Hi-Vis color and reflector patches are a huge plus during hunting season too.

My Shepherd / Border Collie mix looks and runs like a deer so this vest is a must for hiking during hunting season. She's also very athletic which is why this vest is so perfect for her. It fits like a glove and stretches nicely as she moves. Didn't figure on her growing as large as she did so now have to order the next size larger ...a year later and still loving this vest!

"As far as quality of manufacturing, it's pretty good. Our first vest is over a year old and still going strong. Hence the reason we've returned to this vest & company."
We bought 1 last year to try because we live on a county road with overly fast traffic. Lost one dog to that road, didn't want to lose another. Found these, tried it and fell in love right away. Even thuogh our property is fenced in, if you know Basenjis, you know they're escape artists. So now before they go outside we vest 'em up, and try to protect our investment & companions the best we can. I get a sense of relief knowing if they do get loose they're seen alot easier and possibly avoid another disaster. We buy the pink ones for all our dams & orange for all of the sires. That makes them easily identified from a far. As far as quality of manufacturing, it's pretty good. Our first vest is over a year old and still going strong. Hence the reason we've returned to this vest & company. Customer service with Gun Dog Supply is excellent! Very first vest we ordered didn't fit, exchanged it with no problems or attitude. Very grateful! YEESSS!!!! We will be returning to this company for future purchases.

Love this vest!! It provides good coverage but is not restrictive in the armpits. . Its doing the job of being reflective for night walks, visible to hunters and to me when my solid liver dog is in the woods, protects her chest from brush and is just an extra layer of warmth for fall days and nights. its a very quiet, thin softshell material, with a flexible reflective panel and reflective cording. Its probably too warm for 65 plus degree days but seems comfy for cool or wet days. It still held in her body heat after a swim. Seems well constructed and washes well. MEASURE your dog carefully. My little 47 lb GSP wears the Large and its fits closely though not snugly - like it was custom made for her. its stretches to fit her 55 lb sister more like a wetsuit. it doesn't fit the 60 lb Vizsla dog at all.

Seems to fit good. I suppose the rather snug fit is desirable. Have not used it yet, but I hunt chukars clear into January in 30-40 degree temps. This is a very light weight vest, so will see if it provides some needed warmth. Quality appears top notch. I start the season hunting sharptails in Montana in September. The last two years have had cold rain and / or snow at least part of the hunt. May have to try it out then! Also my dog is a smallish viszla, about 42 pounds and a Large fits snug.

We like it but it rubbed the hair off her front legs - she also went into the brush pile after a pheasant and lost her vest coming out - not sure how it came off - it was zipped up good - I guess she's just the Houdini of Pheasant hunting!

Vest is well made, but FIT is a problem. Used LARGE size last winter, but it was too snug this year (old dog putting on some weight), so ordered X-LARGE replacement hoping it would be just somewhat larger - but XL is huge in comparison to L, fits WAY too loose and floppy. Wife took it up some, but it's still not a very good fit. These vests are great, but would be SUPER-GREAT if the back had some stretch panels sewn in on each side of the zipper, may be made of thin Neoprene? Then I could stick with Large size. Or just not make it such a huge step up in size between Large and X-Large!!! I can't image what could wear an XXL... A Shetland pony, maybe?

The one for the lab is a little big, and the one for the boxer mix is a little too snug, such that the zipper unzips a little with movement. They seem to be staying in place ok so far, but they're getting dirty fast as one has to slide them from the dogs' legs. I like the fact that they are nice and bright and visible, but the material seems pretty delicate, so I'm concerned that they're going to rip in the underbrush.

This is a snug fitting vest, and the material is thicker than I thought. Very nice vest. Very well made. Would not have them wear in warmer weather though. Had to order up a size up for all my dogs, as they were between sizes. Is adjustable, at the waist.

Good fit, well made, easy to put on and take off our squirming and very active Lab mix. A little lighter weight material than I expected, but has a nice fine-grained fleece interior and a smooth exterior that doesn't tend to catch on stuff. Nice vest. Sizes seem to run small, had to exchange the medium for a large. After a few days of wear showed some wear on the exterior edge seam stitching, but the wife fixed that easily on her sewing machine, and also added some reinforcing stitching to that area. Personally, I feel it's a little overpriced for what it is, but it fits so well I'd probably buy another if this one bites the dust one day.

"Looks like these vests fit right and will get the job done."
When it arrived there were a number of places where the stitching on the hem was defective. I contacted you and Lydia kindly agreed to send a replacement when you get another one in stock. Until then, we are using this one and have been disappointed. The fabric, zipper, color, and overall design are great. Our spinone has worn it 5-6 times, and already there are multiple places where the stitching has failed and come apart all along the bottom hem. The thread used appears to be a thin, low quality thread not at all suited for a performance item such as this. Given the overall quality of material and design, I am surprised that the manufacturer would skimp on the thread. Perhaps, mine is defective the replacement will hold up.

Not for hard hunting, after 1 evening hunt had tear in chest area. It fits great, but the polar fleece is not durable. Would be good for non hunting use or field use, not for briars, creek bottoms, etc.

It's actually a great coat for visibility, but on a dog that runs in the woods, it doesn't hold up. The second day the fabric came loose from the zipper, and I had to sew it up. On the fourth use, it ripped at the leg and was ruined. I would highly recommend this for leash walkers especially at night, but not for dogs in the woods.

Material is high quality and warm. It's light and my Brit didn't seem to mind wearing it. Biggest drawback here is that it cannot be adjusted so if the dimensions aren't near perfect to your dog, there will be fit issues.
To small and it won't stay zipped and buttoned, to large and it's loose and liable to catch on brush or barb wire.
