For decades the pinch collar has consisted of a fairly stiff leather that tended to spring back open. This isn't it. It's a lousy product. Be mindful that I'm 81 and used these w Tom Flanagan, Delmar Smith, Bob Whele, etc. This isn't made to be the product that it purports to be. I should return it, but I'm short of time.

Wow. Instant difference. As soon as I put the pinch collar on her, basically no pulling. The spikes look scary, but I think they are less aggressive than a prong collar, especially with my golden retriever who has thick hair around her neck. She shows no sign of discomfort or indication that she doesn't like this collar. She responds to just a light tug on the leash. A game changer for our walks.This collar is bulky, but I figure I'll use it only for training until she learns not to pull. Then I'll use her regular collar. I don't think she could or would ever slip out of it, so that's not a worry.I'm careful putting this collar on or taking it off. I'm sure with a few bad experiences she would learn not to like the collar and resist putting it on.Note: If the two pieces of the collar become separated after you unbuckle the collar, it can be a bit complicated to re-assemble the collar. I've taken a few photos to help me do that. By the way, Gun Dog Supply's customer service and their collar return policies are as good as it gets. Be sure to get the right size for your dog. If you are unsure, Call Gun Dog Supply and they will help you.

Literally. We adopted a 1 yr old German Shepherd/Standard Poodle with zero training, no manners and she's a nightmare. This collar makes walks possible. Do not hesitate. Get it. It takes a minute to figure out how it works, but SO worth it. Gun Dog Supply is awesome, item came on time and as advertised.

I sort of guessed at the size of the collar but it was perfect. Very pleased with product.

Put this on our 4yr old GSP, immediately she stopped pulling us around on our walks. Now she can go anywhere we go

This collar does what it is intended to do. It still requires patience and training, but our GSP learned pretty quickly how to remain comfortable. Heel! I do wish the brass 'spikes' on the inside were slightly shorter and a little thicker. However, in using this we have not noticed any ill effects with our dog. She will readily put her head in the collar.

The leather is very high quality and the collar is well made.

This is an awesome collar, super thick but soft leather. Very well made. Quick ship, well packaged. Would definitely order again with confidence and security!

The collar is well built. The leather is wide and heavy. For my purposes, I wish it was a tad shorter from the buckle to the end. I ordered hoping I could use it as a tan so to speak and walk a pup to the line with it and let them go retrieve wearing the collar- in the yard only where no cover to snag is present. It is a bit too heavy and long for that application but works well for its intended purpose. It isn't as aggressive as a prong collar. For timid pups, this is the ticket for those who want to pull on your lead but are a tad too timid for a prong collar. I don't use it every day on every dog but it has a place in my tool box.

I'm very pleased with the quality of the collar and even more impressed with the customer service! I called once to confirm my shipping date and the gentleman on the phone was very friendly. It was a last minute order, so it wasn't supposed to show up until the day I needed it, but then the next day I got my package (total of 3 days). I'll definitely order from Gun Dog Supply again!

Great collar I'm using for my Brittany. My trainer used it and recommended I get one as well. Tried to find a cheapo version and frankly there's nothing out there as quality as this (and the price is well worth it). As advertised or better, great stuff!

It works well, but my setters really hate it. I would love to find one with shorter studs and more of them to distribute the points of pressure more broadly. It would have the same training affect, with less severity. I tried it in on my forearm, It was not pleasant!

This collar is well made, but it's unnecessarily large and thick. IT's way too long, wide, and thick. I actually ended up cutting off some of the leather. I'm not sure I'd buy it again. That said, it does work.

This collar is of the highest quality found anywhere at any price. Love the way it doesn't appear like a pinch collar. Great product at a fair price

Great for training and it looks as though it will last a really long time!

Tried everything else, including a prong collar. Nothing worked. This product, which is sturdily and well made, instantly got my brittany to stop hauling at the leash. It just takes a light tug and he checks himself. I was worried about him hurting his throat and this collar has been excellent. Also, delivered quickly with great follow up by GDS.

I'm using this collar to train a rescue boxer blend who is very energetic. The collar is top-notch and has been extremely helpful in teaching her to walk correctly. Highly recommended.

I have a Black Mouth Cur who is very strong. This collar works great and stops him in his place when needed. Would recommend to anyone who needs help with any kind of training. Very well made!!!

When used correctly this is an amazing tool for getting your dogs to walk with you, instead of the dreaded pulling.

Fit my 4 month Brittany and has room to grow into. I was nervous the prongs were too big but my dog really didn't notice them until she pulled really hard.
