The e-fence collars are a great invention that gives dogs the freedom to roam an unfenced yard.I have 6 of these collars because when my daughter visits us we have 5 dogs in the yard. The reason for having the extra collar is because Pet Safe Yard Max seem to last a year or so then the plastic develops cracks around the contact probes until they fall apart so I keep a spare. I have found that I can extend the life by applying super glue to the cracks. These crack appear on all of the collars regardless of the dog's size, age, and activity level. I have found that I can extend the life of the yard max collar by applying super glue to the cracks when they develop. I greatly miss the training feature that they contain an train of the Innotek collars I owned previously. The Yard Max collars are better than the Innotek contain and train that originally owned because they stay attached to the dog but the life of the collar is much shorter. The reason I switched from contain and train to yard max is because the Innotek contain and train system was discontinued. When the usable life of the yard max system is over and I need to replace 5 collars I will look harder at a system that has the training feature. That will wait until the end of life because of the cost to purchase collars for 5 dogs and a new transmitter.
