This pistol-grip dummy launcher with a built-in removable stock combines the sound of the shot with the flight of the dummy and may be conveniently fired from the shoulder or thigh. The Lucky Launcher II permits one-handed operation so that one hand is available for training. Orange and black with a rubber covered metal stock. Manufactured in the USA.

Uses the same launcher dummies and loads as our other dummy launchers.

NOTE: When training on water, make sure the launch tube in each dummy is dry before re-launching. If water is in the launch tube when the dummy is placed on the launcher, it can enter the firing port, drowning the load and causing a misfire. We recommend having multiple dummies available so the wet ones can dry between launches.

Lucky Launcher II

Steve Says:

The Lucky Launcher 2 is perfect for folks that want an easy to fire, one handed launcher. Unlike other hand held launchers the Lucky Launcher can be cocked and fired one handed. It great if you are working by yourself with a younger dog.

The Lucky Launcher should be fired off your thigh, not off your shoulder. This helps get the perfect height and allow the recoil to be better absorbed.

Transcript from Steve's Video:

This is the new Lucky Launcher. The folks at Retriever Trainer have made a couple of changes to it, making it an easier product to use. Youíll notice the stock comes in two parts now. So, going to attach it together. This allows you to carry it in something smaller. When you buy it as the kit, you get a case that comes with it. So itís easy to break down and you can carry it inside the case.

The Lucky Launcher is one of my favorite dummy launchers. It works off of 22 power loads just like the Retriever Trainer. Open it up, put your loads in here. Close it up to fire it. Attach your dummy and then you cock it. And youíve got a pistol grip that allows you to fire it when you are ready.

Whatís great about the Lucky Launcher is that it allows one-handed operation. When you are working with younger dogs, this can come in handy. It just allows you to have that extra hand in case you need it, unlike the Retriever Trainer, which requires to hands to operate. The Lucky Launcher, you can cock it and then fire when ready.

One of the things I like to point out about the Lucky Launcher is that while this may look like a shoulder stock, itís generally not recommended that you fire it that way. You can, but the kick on it is a little much for most people. Even though itís got a little padding here, I just donít recommend it.

Itís actually designed to be fired off of your thigh. So then you angle it whichever way you need to. Having it as a one-handed operation comes in real handy, especially when you are working with younger dogs. It just gives you that option in case you need to do something else with that other hand.

This is the Lucky Launcher kit. It comes with a hard-shell case, two dummies, a box of loads, plus a gun cleaning kit. We sell it several other ways. You can buy it as a set, which is just going to be the launcher, dummy, and a box of loads. And then you can buy the Lucky Launcher by itself. This version of it I like just from the standpoint that itís easy to break apart. Itís going to be a little easier to keep with you.

The Lucky Launcher 2. Itís a great dummy launcher for folks that are looking for a high-end launcher.

Country of Origin: Made in USA.

Works great. Medium loads are plenty. They aren't kidding about the need for ear protection. Helps to launch from thigh to get away from ear.

Having only been out with it once, I am impressed with the performance of the green loads. The plain dummy and the dummy with streamers shot at least 200 ft.The report is very similar to a shotgun. Hearing and eye protection are a necessity. Recoil was mild with the stock on my thigh. I believe that this launcher will help prepare a dog for the sound and action in the duck blind, and give it an excellent workout.

This launcher works quite well so far. Easy to operate. I suggest you practice opening and closing it a few times before actually using it to get used to where to best position your hands (so as to not get your fingers pinched!)

I used the yellow loads, and the kickback is pretty hard. The stock offers little to no protection against the impact (I leaned it on my thigh and was limping for about an hour or so afterwards.) I would recommend using a bird bag slung over your shoulder, filled with canvas bumpers (or some other padding) and resting on your thigh and then putting the stock on your thigh to lessen the impact. I have not yet tried the red loads.

If you hold with two hands, it also will help to absorb some of the impact.
