Hunts. Julie's explanations and insights into a dogs mind are spot on and extremely helpful. The stories add great reference, and her methods have been quite effective. I look forward to Kirby becoming a fine hunting dog like Hank. Fantastic book. I recommend to anyone getting a hunting dog, no matter the style of hunting.

"Many of her comments on the do's and don't are spot on."

Hunts. Julie provides a thoughtful and constructive perspective on all the aspects of developing a respectful and mutually beneficial relationship with your new family member. This will be our 5th lab and 6th hunting do in 33 years. Many of her comments on the do's and don't are spot on. I should have read it before. She adds much much more as well.

"Great book that could have been edited better."
By: David Paul From Nd
Great book that could have been edited better. That being said, Julie is highly respected as a trainer. And while my puppy is still young, the training methods are true to life and pretty much going as she described. Would recommend this to anyone even if there dog doesn't point. They would still get a lot of great dog training information and methods out of this. Her method will not only give you a hunting dog, but you will have a lifelong companion that loves to hunt, especially with you.
