    I bought this for my dog to use after he had a mass removed from his neck. It worked perfectly. He can't penetrate the material when he scratches. I know that this is not what it's intended for but it does work and my vet was impressed.

    This item protects my dog's neck from not only snake bites but thorns and briars if he gets off-trail. We live in Florida and Riley has already been bitten by a pygmy rattlesnake. He was rushed to the vet and had to receive antivenen (antivenom). That vet visit cost over $1200, and due to the severity of the bite (some bites are packed with more poison than others) it wasn't even a guarantee he was going to make it. I am now more vigilant when it comes to snakes, and I feel this neck gaiter, as well as the snake armor vest, are a must have in this environment.

    • I was worried this neck piece was going to be stiff and he would hate it. Quite the opposite. It is stiff enough to do its job, but flexible and light. Riley doesn't seem bothered by it at all, and even seems to enjoy wearing it. It does not restrict his mobility whatsoever. I love this item.
