Grip Trex feature two major advancements in dog boots -- an upper portion inspired by human shoes and a high performance Vibram sole. Built on an anatomical mold just like human shoes, the boot's upper maintains a consistent size, shape, and fit. The design and construction ensures the boots are easy to put on, easy to secure, provide continued comfort, and stay on your dog's paws. For the sole, Ruff Wear partnered with Vibram to develop the Grip Trex design which provides unequaled grip, traction, durability, and performance. Together, these two advancements produce a completely revolutionary dog boot from top to bottom.
Ruff Wear recommends checking the closure and fit 15 minutes into activity and periodically thereafter.
Features:
Protects dog's paws from extreme environments
Vibram non-marking outsole with rugged lug design provides flexibility and traction on varied terrain
Tightly woven air mesh is breathable while keeping dirt and debris out
Reliable, intuitive hook-and-loop cinch closure system
Gusset design provides wide opening for easy on and off
Low-light visibility with reflective trim
Breathable
Washing Instructions:
Secure fasteners
Wash in cold water
Gentle cycle

Measuring your dog's paws is crucial to getting a proper fit. Grip Trex are built to secure around the ankle but below the carpal pad. The boot should have room in the paw area, allowing the paw to spread when bearing weight. Size is based on paw width, not length.
Sizes Available: 2.0", 2.25", 2.5", 2.75", 3.0", and 3.25"
In-Between Sizes: Choose the larger boot for comfort and performance

I wish my pup loved them as much I do! They were easy to put on and off. Very easy. And she's a 5-month old pup. Great quality. 1) I think she was too young to appreciate them. 2)Despite the width fitting her paw, it was like the shoe was too long for her paw, so she didn't want to get used to running in them.
Pros
Great quality! Easy to put on and tighten.
Cons
Maybe not sized for paws for a medium dog? (30lb Brittany) not sure what the problem was exactly. Wish I could show you the video of her running like a clown, I have no idea why she did a deer prance when wearing them lol

Great protection

We hunt in the DESERT...we are hunting Phesants, Quail and Chucker weekly. Hard on paws but these boots give my lab a break, and a chance for his paws to heal. SKEET recommend!
Pros
Easy to fit...took Skeet a short time to get used to them. Good price and quick shipping.

Red grip dog boots
March 12, 2022
The boots fit great and most importantly they stay on. The velcro does loosen up a bit in deep snow. The only issue is that my dog has dewclaws and the boots rub them raw. I am sure there is a way to compensate for this, but I have yet to figure that out. Good quality boots.
Pros
Durability and design.
Cons
May not be suitable for dogs with dewclaws.

Keep those nails short
February 8, 2022
Our lab wore through the outsole of one of the boots after about 3 or 4 hour-long runs. He was on pavement for a short time, off leash in the forest for the rest.
Other than that they are easy to put on, they stay on and give him good protection and traction.
Cons
Durability

Great product!

I hunt in east coast salt water marshes where there are a lot of oysters. (Both live rock and just shells). Hunting there with a dog was a constant battle of cut pads so I had to figure out a boot that would work or stop taking the dog.
I am happy to report these boots are easy / quick to get on, the dog adjusted to them quickly and they stay on in that sticky marsh mud! Most importantly.. they protected her feet from the sharp shells!
Very pleased with this product.
Pros
Protect feet
Easy to get on / off
Stay on

Won't stay on
November 7, 2021
I lost 3 of the 4 boots in the fields of South Dakota within 30 minutes. I saved the 4th to remind me not to buy these again. The soles are stiff and the sizing chart measures the width of the dog's pad. The sole, however, is longer than my GSP's pad. I like velcro but there must have been an issue with the hard sole extending beyond the pad that caused these boots to work loose in short order. Too tight and maybe you cut off the circulation. Next time I will try the rubber boots which appear to be a pain in the you-know-what to install.
Pros
Look Good
Cons
Won't stay on. Kind of expensive.

The boots worked great!
November 4, 2021
Needed some boots for my lab on a recent trip to New Mexico and these were perfect. We got a great laugh when putting them on the first time with all the high steppin she was doing. Seriously they protected her from all the rocks, stickers and cactus. Just make sure to check periodically to ensure they stay tightly secured. Service and shipping was fast as always! Thanks so much!
Pros
Fit was perfect, and protected her feet well.
Cons
Not really what I would consider a con but they can come loose if you don't check periodically.

Perfect fit
October 23, 2021
The boots fit perfectly and stayed on in the field. I ordered these in black for her back paws and Hunter orange for front the next size up. Unfortunately I mid-measured the front paws because the next size up was not necessary. So easy return of the unused booties. Great grip on bottoms used in extremely dry and cactus filled terrain in Mexico quail hunting. I highly recommend these boots
Pros
Hi quality. Well made. Great pad material

great little boots

Fit my pups hind feet well. She only wears them while on leash to protect against hot pavement, so haven't lost one. They have slipped minimally and are easily adjusted. Now to get her to quit moon walking when they are on...LOL
Pros
easy to adjust
seem durable
easy to measure for sizing
Cons
nothing so far

March 25, 2021
Overall good. I wish the length was a little longer to go up the leg more and Velcro at the top.
Pros
Durable, strong, quality materials
Cons
Not long enough. Would be better for my needs if it went more up the leg and Velcro'd higher up the leg.

Good, but fall off
March 18, 2021
Just like other reviews said. They fell off in 20 minutes, never to be found again. Actually nicer than I expected, dog didn't mind them. I tried to make them fairly tight, without cutting off circulation. But when she took off after a deer, came back soon with no shoes. A quick $40. Searched for a couple hours.
Pros
Good shoes appear to protect feet well. Even against the Arizona cactus', which is my problem.
Cons
Fall off.

Good boots for hunting
January 26, 2021
We were getting slowed down by stickers (sand burrs) out in the field. Bought these boots to help the dog more focused on hunting. Sizing advice was great. Fit is great. My Musterlander took to them right away.
Pros
Good fit. Stay on well. Keep burrs our of paws.
Cons
Dog stepped in some deep muck and got mud in the boots. Was easy to fix though.

Very impressed with how rugged and well built these are.
January 13, 2021
Size was as stated on the ordering page. My Labrador was pretty funny to watch at first but got used to them right away. Great traction and looks like they'll last many years. The price seemed a little high at first but this is the only pair of shoes she'll need; plus she does need four, right? Quality is great and they are worth the price.
Pros
great traction, great fit and tough
Cons
none

Waste of money
December 21, 2020
The title isn’t based on the quality because they are well made; unfortunately they were lost within the first 5 minutes. We hunt chukar in tough terrain and I wanted to help my young shorthair who can’t help but go hard save his paws. I had them snug but also at 28 degrees did not want my pups paws going numb. Well, they were gone before he even got on his first covey. Tough pill to swallow at $40 a set and the whole day in front of us. My poor dudes paws were busted up pretty good by days end which is what I was trying to avoid when I bought these.
Pros
Well made
Cons
Easily lost

Red Grip dog boots
December 20, 2020
Worked well until got wet and muddy - dogs got into tank for water. Lost one out in the field. I should have checked them for tightness.
Pros
Protected feet and allowed me to e able to continue using the dogs to work the cattle.
Cons
Filled with mud when the dogs got a drink and became heavy and moved around on the foot so I ended up taking it -the one boot I had left - off.

Great Product
December 19, 2020
My Lab had to have part of his left front paw amputated. I was looking for a product that would protect his paw when we took our hikes on the farm. He runs through tall grass and wooded areas, in muck and creeks. Without dog boots he would never be able to do what he enjoys. You will need to use some athletic tape around the Velcro straps if your dog runs in heavy tall grass and muck to keep them from coming loose.
Pros
Material that this product is made of.
Vibram soles
Cleans easily
easy to get on and off the dog's paw
Cons
I have not found any yet

Didn’t fit
September 11, 2020
I have two dogs with feet almost as wide they are long. The 2 1/2” were the closest fit. The female’s feet are too short and she trips too easily. The males feet are slightly larger so he can wear without tripping but they rub his inside toes. I’ve tried socks and vet wrap which didn’t help. The company needs to put the length of these boots on the measuring guide.
Pros
Well made
Cons
Too long

Our dog would not stop licking his front paws. They were raw and he could not walk on them and would lick off any medication we put on his paws. I now put the medicine on him and then his boots and off we go. They solved my problem. He is a happy dog and and I am a happy with the product.

Oddly enough my boy has contact grass allergies. The shoes help limit the contact with the offending allergens and he has quit chewing his paws after going outside. They fit well and he doesn't seem to mind them.
