The leather is thick and strong, the hardware feels high quality, and to top it off the shipping was speedy. My neighbor has a gun dog supply collar that has lasted them 4 years of hard work on a high energy dog which made me want to purchase mine. When I received it I could immediately see how it would last that long and longer. This is probably the last collar I'll ever have to buy.

This collar seems to be great quality! I do wish the ring to put the excess through was further from the buckle. The black on the buckle is already starting to wear off but my dog is mainly outdoors so I was kind of expecting this. Otherwise I am very happy with it!

As with everything I've ever bought from Gun Dog Supply, this collar is very high quality, durable, and made with skill down to the small details. The color is a deep black, the measurement suggested for my dog was exactly right, and the gold name plate looks really good against the black. The hardware is sturdy metal, not the cheap plastic junk that's on a lot of collars. The leather is good quality, not too stiff but still thick and strong. I use it on my Great Dane and never worry it will break while we're out walking. The matching leash is just as well made and beautiful.

My vet suggested a good leather collar while at our appointment. I searched all the local stores he suggested but could not find a good one. I found this one inch black leather collar with a metal name tag on gundogsupply.com and my vet said it was a nice collar. The service was good and fast. We love these collars, and have bought 5 different styles over the years from Gun Dog Supply for our dogs. We wanted another black collar and I was disappointed to see there wasn't a brass fitting option and that this collar is solid black. It is a very pretty collar and excellent quality that we are used to from Gun Dog Supply.We did notice that when compared to the original collar, the hardware is smaller than the brass fittings. We really like that the brass name plate is included in the purchase.We also have the matching 6 foot leather leads and they are great quality too.
