We get some really interesting ones with information that really has no place on a dog tag. We will put anything you want on your ID plates, but keep in mind that the main purpose of an ID plate is to get your dog home safely if he gets lost. In our opinion, anything else has no place on a tag. Be sure to read my article on what information you need to put on your dog's nameplate. Steve Snell

ID tags for dog collars
November 27, 2024
I should have ordered more! Great for collars and other items you might drop in the field. Extra rivits were included, in case you need them. The fog is in the water frequently, and it hasn't impacted the tags appearance. As an improvement, I would recommend a kit with a hole punch and a rounded die to make the rivits join and look perfect.

Got my ID name tag 2 weeks ago. It is awesome. Easy to put on the collar with a leather punch. It's easy to read and will not fade. Also super cheap compared to other tags of less quality. I'll be getting another one for my other dog next. :)

Gun Dog Name Plates
July 17, 2023
This is the second time I have ordered these plates.i ordered the first set for my dogs when my dogs ended up a mile away from home without my knowledge. I ordered this one to go with my new Bloodhound. Everyone always asks where I got them and I am sure to recommend the website. I think they are better than any others I have found.

Brass Stamped ID plates

The ID plates had the exact info I requested. They are thick enough to be solid but pliable enough to bend to the dogs neck circumference. I bent them and then drilled the holes, worked great. I used a river set tool, but a hammer and good solid surface underneath would work also

Just what I needed

The brass name plate from Gun Dog Supply worked perfectly. My wife would not let me buy a new collar, so the name plates were the only way to go. The price was right and my message is accurate. I followed the suggestions from the website regarding content and was able to include 4 phone numbers. The instructions were clear and I had the plates on the existing collar in no time.

I was searching for name plates for my passed pets memorial when I came across GunDog.I ordered 3 different plates, 2 for the passed and 1 for our present rescue. I figured these would be made of thin brass plated sheet metal however I proceeded anyway. I received them very quickly which was a surprise. First thing I noticed was the weight, not sheet metal. The quality was great and everything was correct.

Very nice plate
September 6, 2025
The rivets were easy to install, the plate was nicely stamped. Yes, stamped, not engraved. Quality purchase IMO. So much better than a hanging tag.Fits a standard width collar.Tip: use a soldering iron or hot nail to "melt" a hole for the rivets through the collar...to prevent fraying of the material.I will buy again for the next collar I purchase!

Brass Stamped ID Plate With Rivets

Fast service - good price - a single plate at Walmart was $11.00. If I could add something it would be the ability to add zip code to the address. Good communication and fast delivery.

Lettering a little faded/shallow stamping, wish it were clearer to read, but good enough for the price. When I need another I will pay the extra for the laser engraved plate, which was very good on the Medical Alert plate I got for the other dog.

Brass stamped ID name plate
June 8, 2025
I recently got a brass plate for my golden retrievers, and I could not be happier with it! The plate has a lovely, classic look that matches perfectly with their collars. I love how's it's engraved with their names. it really adds a personal touch. The quality is impressive too-sturdy and well made. So I don't have to worry about it getting damaged when they're playing around. It's nice knowing that not only is it functional, but it also looks great. Plus i've received a few compliments from neighbors when they see my dogs wearing them. Overall, I definitely recommend this brass plate if you're looking for a stylish and durable option for your dogs I would have included a picture but it has my personal information on it.
