My 11 month old Brit disappeared into the February mist and cattails on the Charles River in Massachusetts for 20 mins, chasing a pheasant that I missed. He was gone for almost 20 mins, completely ignoring whistle recall I had worked on for months. Well out of bell range.Disgusted (at both my shooting and my dog) my hunting buddy spit out a few words: "E Collar. That will fix half of the problem."The Dogtra 2700 is expensive, but not compared to losing a dog. After ten days, Piper knows that when I put it on him, it's time to get serious. His recall is consistent now. My shooting remains a work in progress.This is a great piece of gear. I still use a bell on him, but it's mostly background info. When we hunt, I set the collar to "point" mode. It tells me when he goes on point, and where. And if he does bump a bird or we get a runner, the Pager button vibrates the collar and gets his attention. The Consistent pulse is coming next and the combination is enough to get him back to me and on track. The only complaint is the lack of comprehensive instruction. The enclosed manual gives you basic functionality and direction. But if either the manufacturer or Snell could point to an online training video (for me, not Piper) that would really complete the deal.Snell's price beat Cabelas, by the way. And was in line with other online sellers.Great product. Strongly recommended.

I have been running the old 2500 series unit for the last 20 years. This new 2700 unit is just as tough and reliable. The vibrate feature is a nice upgrade and will eliminate the need to shock your dog for most behavior correction situations. Once they understand that the vibration is a warning. Mine picked it up on the first day, she's just 18 months old. If my old 2500 unit is any indication, this will last a long time!

The three different beeper modes work great and it is truly waterproof as my dog swims with it on regularly. Reliably detects point vs motion. (We hunt pheasant near a river.) I love it my only suggestion is larger font to label the buttons and larger screen - these old eyes struggle with the print size.

So far, so good. I like the instruction manual that comes with the product. It's very easy to understand and is clear on all the functions. Didn't take pup long to get used to it. I acclimated him to the beeper in his kennel area for a few days(30 min at a time) like the instructions said. Put it on him with the beeper turned on and he acted like it wasn't even there. (Had him wear the collar for a week or so without the beeper turned on while training)

Light weight and small, it works like it is supposed to work. My only criticism is that the beep on this collar is loud and shrill enough to hurt my ears. I can't imagine what it does to sensitive dog ears. I also can't imagine what they would do to make it quieter since you are supposed to be able to hear it from a distance.It's not a problem for me because I just don't use the beep, so I only get ringing in my ears when I first turn the collar on or off.I was using a different brand, which died of old age, and my dog switched smoothly to this collar without any glitch or any confusion. For me, it was an upgrade to have the hand controller be so small and light weight.

I had 2 English pointers and used train and beep collars on them from inotech.This collar is on my GSP every day when he is outside. I can not imagine a more severe torture test. The collar is incredibly durable. The orange collar cracked and I moved the receiver to an orange ID collar. Still going strong after 2 years. The batteries last longer than I ever expected. I never expected this collar to still function 100% as good as day one, after all this time and super hard use. Its wet/submerged at least 20 times a week. Packed in mud 4 times a week. I often have to wash it in the sink! The receiver charge is good for 3 days constant on during waking hours. The transmitter lasts a week between charges.i plan to buy another for future replacement and feel I am getting tremendous value. Worth every cent!
