The Dogtra ARC ("Advanced Receiver Concept") is a 3/4 mile range training collar that is expandable to a 2-dog system. The transmitter features a rheostat/volume style dial with stimulation levels 0-127. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Dogtra ARC remote training collar. This is a new system from Dogtra. They've come up with a brand new collar design. The ARC is a slimline collar. You'll notice they have spread the collar out a little bit more. It's designed to fit up closer to the dog's neck. This is for folks that are looking for something that is a little less obvious that their dog is wearing an e-collar. It's designed to where the collar strap goes underneath it and just fits up close to the dog's neck. A lot of folks like that as something that is less obvious that the dog is wearing a remote training collar. The ARC is designed to fit that.
The ARC, like a lot of Dogtra collars, is a 127 level stimulation. It is a rheostat design from the transmitter. Dogtra has really smooth rheostats, easy to raise and lower stimulation. It has a LCD screen to show you what your stimulation level is. The ARC comes as a 1 dog system, but it is designed to be upgraded to a 2 dog system at any point. You just buy the extra collar and add it on. You've got momentary, or the "nick" feature that Dogtra has, you have continuous stimulation, and then you also have the pager feature.
The ARC is designed for all sized dogs, but it is designed to fit up close to the neck. So if you are looking for something that is a little more subtle, take a look at the Dogtra ARC.
I bought the ARC collar to replace 20+ year old Dogtra Gold collars. Those collars are still working but are more bulky and now I have dogs with 13-15 inch necks instead of 17-18 inch necks. The smaller, lower profile training unit is very nice! I put the unit on a smaller collar to use on my youngest dog to reinforce a good recall in the desert. We are still in training on long line so far, but I know from previous dogs that we will soon be running free! Overall I am very pleased with the performance of the collar and I've always had excellent customer service and support from GunDog supply!

I've always been pleased with the Ecollars I've gotten from Gun Dog Supply, and the Dogtra Arc is no exception. I train and work Search and Rescue dogs, and it's important to have control of them while they're working off lead. Sometimes it's necessary to work in hazardous areas or where there's a lot of wildlife, and an Ecollar can be a great tool to reinforce good habits. The ARC is truly a game changer. The transmitter is small enough and comfortable to hold. It is also very easy to operate. The collar's design is streamlined and subtle, which was one of the reasons we purchased it. I called GDS to speak to a product specialist, who was very helpful and assisted in deciding which collar was best for us. Robin's DVD (included for free) was instrumental and provided solid advice on the training. Our Italian pointer is responding well to the collar and the training. It works very well and is easy to use. I only wish it had a tone with the pager or tone instead of the pager. All in all my 8 month old Irish setter is already a different dog. Recall is coming along and loose leash walking is great. I also like the stream line fit. Not so big and bulky. I would highly recommend.

I had put off an e-collar since our dog is on the small side at 43 lbs, but this one looked perfect for her given its smaller width collar and low-profile design. It was pretty quick to get her recalling using the collar, and at her first real hunt last week was able to get her to come back when she got overly excited chasing a bird that got away. Great training collar. Very nice slim fit too. The plastic collar that came with it was way too big for my 6 month old boxer, and I didn't want to cut it since she's still growing. I went to Menards and found a collar to use with it for now. Works great, and she's behaving wonderfully.
