The foam body is designed to hold the training scent whether using the dummy in or out of the water. 1/2 to 3/4 ounce of training scent is sufficient. How to Deodorize Your Dokken Deadfowl Trainer: Mix 1 qt. 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, a squirt dish soap, and enough warm water to cover your dummy (up to a 1/2 gallon if needed). Soak dummy overnight and rinse off the next day. Set out in the sun to dry.

It's a great training tool, and the pup loves it for training. It's life size and gets the pup use to picking up something that size, and you can throw it pretty far with the string on it. I can throw it around 40-45 yards no problem. I'm 23. It's no big deal, but my father can toss it around 40 yards, and he's 50!!!

Performs exactly as advertised. Dog did a ton of head shaking on the retrieve when training with plastic bumpers. Headshaking is no longer a problem with Dokken's dead fowl trainer. It takes and holds liquid scent well.
