. Hunts. Family pet. Competes. Don't use this product to cast your dog to the right or left, neither for back, nor angle back. Use Dokken Deadfowl Duck dummies instead. The dogs like the drills much better when there is a retrieve involved, and not just running to a platform. IT"S A BIG DIFFERENCE. Use the duck dummies and AVERY's competition style bumpers, NOT the Dokken Platforms for those drills.
So what are the Dokken Platforms good for? They are good for teaching your dog to go to any location that is not a retrieve, such as "go to kennel" or "go to your blanket" or "get in the truck - or rather jump up (into the F250), and things like that. For retrieve moves that involve casting the dog somewhere, these are next to useless compared to having a bumper pile at the spot(s) you want the dog to go to. Also, the dogs will learn the casting drills A LOT quicker and enjoy it 10 times more.
