THE ATLAS
The Hawaii Atlas & Gazetteer includes 49 quadrangular maps covering all of the main islands, a Honolulu city map with a street name index, and an overview of the entire state, including the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. The scale of the state maps is 1:84,000 (one unit of measure on the map represents 84,000 units of the same measure on the ground). Each map page is composed of 12 minutes of longitude and 16 minutes of latitude, covering an area approximately 13 miles (20.9km) wide by 18.4 miles (29.7km) high.
