What is a "USED" product?
These used Garmin collars and handhelds come from customer trade-ins of previously owned equipment. Each unit is personally inspected by Steve, who verifies that it meets our standards. We clean up the gear, update the firmware, do a full factory reset, and test everything to make sure it's working like it should. All used collars and handhelds from Gun Dog Supply come with a 60-Day Limited Warranty -- if it stops working due to normal use within 60 days, we'll repair it or replace it.
The T-5 relays the dog's position to the handler's handheld with location updates as often as every 2.5 seconds.
The T5 is a GPS TRACKING collar only -- no remote dog training collar features.
AKC Competition Approved
The AKC Performance Events Department has approved the Garmin T5 collar for use in pointing breed field trials and hunting tests.

It's really tricky to give exact run times on the Garmin T5 because there are so many variables. Collar battery run time is most affected by update rate and whether or not you use the Beacon Lights.
Feed-through Collar Strap Design
The T5 collar strap is a feed through / collar belt loop style unit just like most e-collars on the market today. It does not require screws or a plate to attach the collar to the unit.
Coated Nylon "Glo" Collar Strap
The T5 uses a 1-inch wide plastic coated "Glo" collar strap that is popular with most hunters and Field Trial dog owners. These straps hold up better than regular nylon or leather collars and come in 10 different colors so you can keep up with your different dogs. Choose an Orange, Black, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, White, Silver, Pink, or Violet collar strap. Fits neck sizes between 13-inches and 22-inches and features a solid K-9 metal collar buckle with metal keeper.
USB Port on Collar
Built-in USB Port allows easy software updates -- just plug your collar into your computer. Also can be used to export additional GPS dog data directly from your collar to your computer.
T5 Collar Software Features
Astro / Alpha / PRO 550+ Cross-Compatibility
The T5 is compatible with the Astro 430 and all Alpha and PRO 550+ handhelds (tracking function only with Alpha and PRO 550+). The T5 is NOT compatible with Astro 320 or 220 handhelds.
Rescue Mode
When the battery on a tracking collar dies, finding a missing dog gets a lot more difficult. When the collar battery drops to 25% life, RESCUE MODE changes the update rate to a 2-minute ping to extend battery life which gives you the maximum amount of hours to find a lost dog. Rescue mode is not the default setting. You have to turn it on under SETTINGS. I can't think of a good reason NOT to run your collar in rescue mode because there's no downside to using it.
