For my purpose a longer cord would have been nice, but I'm sure my set-up isn't the norm. This product hold sufficient amount of water and has stayed ice free in temps as low as 10 degrees.

My water did freeze, but it got down between -10 to -20 for a week or two. But other than that, it did a very good job of keeping water from freezing.

Bowl works well, keeps water thawed in most instances. Although during -25F and blowing snow it froze over on the top, and I had to break 1/2" of ice to allow dog to drink. Any other weather -10- o -15F without snow it worked great!
