Best collar for the best working dog

I've purchased collars before from this company and hope the company will be forever available for my next collar! My dog is an Australian Shepard that loves to work steers. His job is the roughest on the planet. He loves what he does so much, he occasionally freelances his own work! I got a call a couple years ago, a rancher near us, said he had gotten close enough to Hank to read his collar, enabling him to see my number! He called and asked if Hank could help him finish loading, I said yes he could, to just calm and I would pick him up when all are loaded for the sale. That old collar is still on the shelf but I purchased him a new one this Christmas. There is no price I wouldn't pay to keep this friend safe. This is the third collar I've ordered over the past 7 years for my field lab. The brass is well engraved on all collars. Buckles substantial enough to be easily workable with cold hands. Leather looks awesome. It's her 'dress' collar.

Last a Lifetime

This is the 3rd leather collar I've purchased from Gun Dog Supply. The first two lasted the lifetime of my 15 year old Weimaraner and 10 year old GSP. I have no doubt that the new one will be with my Redbone Coonhound to the end. I should have ordered one length shorter but I just cut the end so it wasn't rubbing her ear. I also applied leather conditioner to help break it in. It's the same beeswax mix I use on my boots.

Looks beautiful and fits well. Very high quality leather and color doesn't bleed. My dog is white, and only rubbed a little stain color first time collar got wet. It wasn't much...barely noticeable. This quickly washed off my dog.

These collars from Gun Dog Supply are great. They look good, they are quality and they are sold at a price you can't beat. What I like best is the tag on the collar and it's actually engraved. The letters are stamped into the metal tag. Not printed on like other collars. Or scratched on with a light laser that will rub off over time. These letters are there for good. Also, I have an 110 pound Lab and an 10 pound Min Pin, I was able to order them both the same collar, I like that I could get them matching collars. Another plus is the shipping time. I think the collars arrived 3 days after I ordered them and from across the country. I'm telling you if you're looking for a quality collar for your pup this is the place to buy. I don't see any reason for buying anywhere else. I won't!

I just ordered my third Mendota collar. It is handsome, durable, and the nameplate is a nice touch. If you have a long hair breed like my Golden Retriever, I'd recommend the D-ring (just meaning the that ring for the leash is on the end of the collar). With the D-ring it's much easier to locate the ring in all that hair and snap the leash on.
